Didnt read the thread. Found the track hard to endure, like some kind of chinese torture method.
Finally!

Of course it is! In the Cafe you need to actually listen to some dumb melodies... Here you can have an exciting argument over something you don't even need to waste time to familiarize yourself with.Tricky-Loops wrote:the "Everything Else" section seems to be a much better place for publicity than the Music Cafe...

Interesting comment considering I didn't state wanting anything. I'd like to ask what exactly is having something special mean when it's merely an undefined statement in this case. Surely, it's a matter of interpretation or where your own imagination leads you without knowing exactly what you're expecting to be special. A million Youtube videos state all sorts of nonsense to get you to watch or to get high view counts doesn't mean I believe the title.jancivil wrote:You wanted the criticism to be from people that aren't critical of themselves. I judge my own tracks as though professionally produced tracks. When I produced demos to present to UA when I was 16, guess what I was going for? Did we hire amateurs to engineer and mix? I sounded like Clapton on the guitar solo FFS.pc2000 wrote:I mean...people are judging this track as though it's presented as a professionally produced track in a commercial studio by a seasoned pro. I would assume that a typical 16yr old learning to produce would be deficient in their knowledge of mixing techniques. Shit, a lot of older- experienced musicians still are baffled about what to do when mixing and how to effectively use EQ and compression, so I don't see the relevance on bashing the kid about this aspect.
The point of talking about the production should be so self-evident: "This 16-year old producer from London has something really special". What does "producer" mean? The production is the skill advertised, or isn't it. Does it mean something else? It kind of functions as an excuse for a lack of musicianly action as far as I'm concerned. Therein lies the entire problem. I'm not bashing any kid. As an object presented to us here, we're clicking on something like it's going to be amazing and it's just not very good.
I didn't know what to expect only reading the thread title which could've simply been an article, a video showing his musical robot, or showing his cat playing a piano for all I knew.
Let's go back to ground zero and see what exactly stirred up all this. Here's the posters original and only statement in this post.
What's exactly stated that this thread has gotten so far off the train tracks. What I see is someone that wanted some attention to their soundcloud page. I don't see any outrageous claims about the music or any statements about it's production value or quality. People are stuck on stupid about the title, but It's your own interpretation as to it's meaning. Again, what did this person claim exactly?kain wrote:I don't know what it is. Can he get a pair of ears? He is really underviewed on soundcloud

Well, he's got the David Guetta Pumpy Sidechain Overcompression Motion Sickness technique mastered. Holey shmoley. Filtery Synth Sound Into The Break... Check! That buzzy repetitive thing is really just... mmm... Repetitive. I guess that's the downside of some genres such as edm variations, or 3 chord rock, for that matter... The important subtleties are lost on the beginner, and all you can muster is the commonality. Oh well, I give 'em an "A" for effort... There is no "bad" music, IMO... If there were I would have given it up as a hobby a loooooong time ago...

You need to limit that rez, bro.

WTF? I check this post of mine a couple of months later and there are 12 pages of replies?
Holy VST-Plugin!!!
So that's where Aloysius got all his soundcloud views from! He has 1500 more views on his top song that I have! Not fair. Anyway, thx guys for giving some attention to Aloysius. I got to know him because he commented on soundcloud on one of my songs, this one --> https://soundcloud.com/matthijsbos/call ... t-you-want
And since then we have enjoyed each other music and we are trying to work together. It's so cool when you get to that point where other artist starting to notice you and your music kicks of. But I am still a little jealous on all his views but I guess it's my own fault!
Here, just uploaded Fillipus Assholius Tutanchamon --> https://soundcloud.com/matthijsbos/fill ... utanchamon
And my blog --> http://kain.tweakblogs.net/blog/9147/fi ... hamon.html
I have to show Aloysius this post, we were wondering where all the views were coming from ...
The kid guy needed more then 30 minutes and still has not read everything ...
You guys made somebodies day!
