But he tries, and he made this song. He'd probably enjoy some comments. Oh, and he's also me.

Nice song...keep on working on your music and voice, there's much potential!

BTW if you need more than 10 pages of comments by old men, you should post your song in the "Everything Else" section...

ok I'm an old man too, but I'm a fan!
Good song and production!

eek! too many good comments from old guys..is that a good sign?

hmmm, well, its ok, but youre no "madeon"

tbh i dont even know what a madeon is or what it sounds like, just read the name in that other thread.
havent actually listened here either, yet. but whether i enjoy it or not, i still think you should be encouraged to enjoy music...

definitely a savvy way to get some people to listen to the track.

Not my style, but I liked it. I feel the vocals could have a better treatment somehow, but that's just an off the cuff opinion from one listen.

I like your other tracks a bit more though.

"Loud" is really cool. Has some nice power to it. I'm not big into dubstep, but the track doesn't necessarily get stuck in that category.

Your electropop "You Complete the Circuit" is really cool. I'll let your Soundcloud keep playing and see what happens.

Keep up the great work :)

If he were 16 this would be flipping amazing! But at 17? ....Come ooon

EDIT: Listening to the track now... I hate this kind of music! But it's mixed and crafted really well and sounds great! ... er.... for that kind of thing :hihi: . Sounds very releaseable and professional. Just don't expect me to buy it :P

Nice coda!

What crap.

Only kidding. It's really good.

The verse into the bridge works really well. The transition into the chorus isn't so clean but it might be because the chorus seems to arrive a bit early. I reckon (IMHO, YMMV etc) you could make more of the bridge and slightly delay the move into the first chorus to build up the anticipation a bit.

Keep at it - way better than I was doing at 17. Call yourself a musician, songwriter, etc. I just cringe when I see someone calling themselves a 'producer', when the underlying skills of composition, songwriting, arranging, etc. all need work. This 'producer' word has been abused over the past 5 years.

Cool logo too!

Keep your eyes open for Pat Pattison's songwriting courses. A shortened version was offered 1st quarter this year online for free. He has some tips on songwriting which would really help your songwriting skills.

You are way ahead of most of us old farts here. Use of Pat's coaching could put the final shine on At Odds. You've got some cool lyric phrasing, but there are a couple places where it could use a little less predictable timing. For example, the chorus is kind of boring timing compared to some of the tricks you have in the 1st verse. 2nd verse lyric timing seems forced in several places (many places where syllables are held that shouldn't be, to try to fit a rhythm - consider delaying the start of the syllables instead of stretching).

FWIW, I just finished this class - and what I shared with you here is also a note to myself, Pat's class really opened my eyes to my lyric phrasing mistakes. I'm re-writing many songs written over the past 10 years.

Followed your soundcloud, BTW.

Good stuff. Rhode Island!!!

Lol at the post title. Nice :tu:

Pretty cool track. But, Rhode Island? No way, dude. Definitely more of New Hampshire vibe. You should move there.

Great tune. Probably your best chorus ever - excellent melody.

You surprised me by ending on the moody middle eight. I was expecting you to go back to the chorus but it worked perfectly.

I thought the lyrics to the second verse were a bit weak. The verse hand claps could be a little louder.

Great stuff. Keep 'em coming. :tu:
