Either he is a haX0r with mad skills or he looked at your Bandcamp page which you tagged with Warwick. :)

I suggest doing multiple takes. Get the safe take recorded first and then go for attitude later. You can comp the different takes.

He looked at the Soundcloud page...

And after he read it, he dreamed of Rhode Island because he loves the mellow sound of Rhodes... :D

yeah, especially if your software enables leaving it rolling and looping adding the ne take automatically, logic does this.
the rearming and pressing record every take wont help relaxing which is where you will find the "attitude" :)

good stuff, not my thing but you definitely have some talent.

Good work (says another old fart). I think the issue with bite or conviction in the vocal is probably a combination of "OMG I just hit record so this is IT!" and over-rehearsal, trying to be sure you timing is right etc.

Put the backing on a loop. Have a glass of your favourite tipple. Think about the song and what it means to you, then just sing it.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?
