Cubase 5 gets the most love around here; haven't upgraded because..why?
Live 5 when I want to work in a different paradigm. Haven't upgraded because
I just demo'd v9.
Orion for playing around.
FL Studio; I install it and think 'how the f**k does this work?'

Reaper is my main after ditching Sonar. I'll rewire Reason, Renoise or Ableton for the fun of it. But most of the time, Reaper does everything I want.
What sound do dreams make when they die?

It's all between Cubase on an old desktop PC and Logic on a MB 13" (with mostly the same hardware specs) here... Basically it always depends on the mood, the genre and the installed plug-ins on each platform, the desktop has an UAD-1 built in it, but let's say Logic gets a bit more love!

Back in 2002-04 it was Fruity Loops and Cakewalk Home Studio.
In 2004-2007 it was FL Studio.
In 2007-2013 it was FL Studio and Acoustica Mixcraft.
In 2013-present it is FL Studio and Cakewalk Music Creator 6 Touch.

I use 2 mostly , but I voted 3 or more because , well I have more hosts .
1. StudioOne2 Producer - no melodyne for me -
- Windows7 64
2. Ardour 2/3/Harrison Mix buss (Ardour with a mixer ) - Linux
I mainly record my voice/vocals , bass/electric/acoustic guitars , hand percussion , and very little midi mainly percussion samples/drum samples
Some honorable mentions I use when Im bored or need a change of scenery Tracktion4 , Reaper4 , Livelite7 and Mulab5 free . Its nice to have choices .

I agree with that! Although 2 at a time has always been my main way of working, I do have Studio One, AIR Ignite, and Orion Pro 7 (really old) for those random times when I'm bored of the same 2 DAWs and I just want to work in something different.

How does the count work?
Usage in the own studio? Or do hosts at clients places also count to this? If so, I definitely lost count over the years.

My story's like hibidy's with respect to Live 9 - upgraded to 8 Suite to get the upgrade to 9 Suite. If it handled plugins better, I'd use it more.
I bought Logic 9 first with the hope that it would act like an Apple product, and nothing is further from the truth. I still fight with it occasionally to remind myself why I don't use it.
I tried Reaper on a whim just to see what the fuss was about, and every time I use it, I like it a little more.
I also bit the bullet recently and upgraded to Reason 7. You can get a lot out of it for very little CPU use, but the sequencer could be better.
So right now, today, I spend about 80% of my time in Reaper and 20% in the remaining DAWs.

I'm using REAPER. I try to be loyal. But I'm an ordinary man. I don't know when I'll need a nicer DAW...
Additionally I still love MuLab. But now I have bought MUX and can use it in REAPER, so I don't need MuLab any more.

I'm dropping Studio One in favor of Reaper (I never though I would travel that far but....) and keep MuLab. The other bunch of DAWs are beginning to collect virtual dust.
Reason 7 is purely a "resting area" after dealing daily with the overwhelming world of VSTs.

I'm thinking of getting Reason Essentials as a "resting area". I would like to try and simplify, and I think having less options while composing may be a good thing.
