I like to use Tattoo as a sequencer for another drum vst like Microtonic; I just dig the randomisation aspect. Same with Axon - very rarely use the built in synth part, rather it triggers another vst.Frantz wrote:I have used Tattoo a lot. It is a pretty good X0X style drum machine without specifically emulating any particular machine. It is a breeze to use. The kicks, snares, and hi-hats sound pretty good IMO. The built in compressor is also quite handy. The built in sequencer is limited but is also very easy to use.synaesthesia wrote:Anyone used Tattoo? Any good?
Tattoo frustrations: The ability to change the sounds is pretty limited. You can tweak a handful of parameters only. I find the toms and cymbals disappointing and I can't improve them given the limited sound editing. I have noticed timing problems driving Tattoo from my DAW's sequencer. (The built in sequencer is fine.)
I am probably going to switch to Drumatic (now in beta). I think Drumatic can do a broader range of sounds than Tattoo.
I can't resist AD sales, but I'm fast running out of their plugins to buy. Picked up Dr Device, which I think is the last I was tempted by - this makes 16.

If you want them even cheaper, you can look in the KVR Market Place...AstralExistence wrote:25 percent off is considered a summer sale? not much of sale really. more like 25 percent off.

i have idea if i want them because they dont offer demos. no demo, no sale, software is still pirated, its a lose/lose for both company and customer.Tricky-Loops wrote:If you want them even cheaper, you can look in the KVR Market Place...AstralExistence wrote:25 percent off is considered a summer sale? not much of sale really. more like 25 percent off.

Anyone have any thoughts on Ronin?
I love N2O, but I like that Ronin has everything on one page.

Took the advice, went with Dr. Device. I could keep rhyming here but I won't. Pretty cool right out of the gate. I'll give it more time tomorrow...

Cool. I'm pretty sure you'll like Dr. Device. I use it on every track I do.audientronic wrote:Took the advice, went with Dr. Device. I could keep rhyming here but I won't. Pretty cool right out of the gate. I'll give it more time tomorrow...
Remember folks, AD has a no questions asked return policy for 30 days. Instead of agonizing over these decisions you can buy it and return it if you don't like it.

Strangely I got drdevice never to show up in my plugin list. Neither in Live 8/9 32/64 or Reaper 32/64. Every other plugin is fine. I even tried to swap the 32 for the 64 and vice versa, but no luck.

"And that'sch ashnother thing Mr. SpurtyFartBlast, eh eh ..."
Phone goes dead.
30 seconds later.
"Hello, It's very late, Dr. Spurt here".
"Spurtey, I Djust wanna schsay, I'm verry verry sory (sic [hic]), I dgidn't meen to call ya a cdj8nt, it wash very verry unprofeshionscional of me. yesch it wasch".
"Dr. Krand? Have you been imbibing perchance?".
"Meeee.. Neverrr.".
"Ok, I think we've both had enough abuse for one night old chap, why don't you just have another little sniffter to calm down, and ring me in the morning if you still feel so strongly about it all?, eh, there's a good chap - it's 4:30 in the morning".
Phone goes dead. Hummm...
Dr. Spurt goes back to what he was doing - knocking off insane beats left right and center, wondering at the simplicity and the genius of a plugin such as Replicant. Wondering at the kind of mind that could create it. Wondering why he had to have my phone number. Wondering why he had to call me at f**king four o clock in the morning. Can't get over it. Smiles to himself. Has another Sniffter... or two.
11 AM GMT.
Phone rings.
"Hello this is Dr. Krand, to whom am I speaking to? I must apologise for calling so early in the morning".
"Dish iszh Jochtder shpurt ats yer szervishch - isch zat yousch Chkerisch?"
Phone goes dead.
Dr. Krand smiles to himself at the other end of the phone.
"Gets 'em every time. Customer. Support. Back of the net!". (He's been watching Alan Partridge lately.)
Dr. Spurt wakes up with a sore head and emails tech support at Audio Damage.
"Er, I didn't say anything out of order last night, did I?".
"No, no, not at all, Dr. Spurt, it's lovely to hear from you. Everything is ok with our plugins I trust?"
