Thanks for the many insights here. As for the reverb idea, it seems I will have to sing in a heavy reberverated space to get a sense of what is desirable. My intuition is that long standing notes would require longer standing reverberation while short note do not.

It's free and pretty durned good. It can sound nice to run Wow n flutter (by The Interruptor) behind it for a more natural, um, wow n flutter effect.

Mac/RTAS/AAX user...and not into the wrappers. The Avid Reel Tape Flanger is suppose to have this as well, but considering the 3 day demo cost money I'm not going to find out anytime soon :P
