Just PMed you. But you may want to try manually typing in the serial vs copy/paste. Pasting sometimes doesn't work on the input windows properly.

Only the Au displays correctly. The VST has a bug in the display, it's mostly white except for the upper left hand corner.

I think I'm going to move Rapture and newly acquired Dimension Pro to windows on parallels.

You used Josh's workaround or Chad's. I changed permissions in the prefs folder as per Josh but it still throws up the serial not recognised problem.

I know, even stuff that is still supposedly supported they don't tend to provide support for in my experience.

You used Josh's workaround or Chad's. I changed permissions in the prefs folder as per Josh but it still throws up the serial not recognised problem.

I used Chad's [but I was referring to my own workarounds for the post-installation bugs]. Mountain Lion has had an update or two since then. That is what caused the GUI failure in the VST version. Make sure you're using the AU to register. If that's not working, try to enter the serial with the VST by mapping it on the AU and guessing where you need to be.

I can't even install it to run it in any host - the serial needed in the installer isn't being accepted.

No - Mountain Lion

I'm confused. You have to install it on a Leopard machine first, then manually move it to Mountain Lion. That's the key ingredient in the work-a-round.

I was confused because I thought you were on the final step of the workaround, but you're still on the first. The workaround requires an old machine with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Install there first, then move the files across to the new machine.

If you don't have access to Leopard, unfortunately, you're out of luck. Sorry.

Here is the incredibly long and tedious process I tried. I had to do it several times, so I'm not sure it will work for anyone else.

1) In Finder, choose "Show Package Contents" of the Rapture 1.2.1 Installer.app
2) In the Contents/MacOS folder, you should see "Rapture 1.2 Installer
3) Open a terminal window and cd to the directory in which installer.app is located.
4) type 'sudo' and then drag the 'Rapture 1.2 Installer into the terminal to paste it.
5) Press Enter and your password and then wait for the installer to do its thing.

Now comes the 'fun' part...

If all went well, In /Library/Preferences/ there should be two files:
a) com.cakewalk.Rapture.plist
b) com.cakewalk.rp.plist

These need to be edited.
A) com.cakewalk.Rapture.plist needs the following two entries (I'm not sure if the placement matters)
<key>ProductKey</>
<string>ENTER YOUR REG CODE HERE</string>

and
<key>Serial Number</key>
<string>ENTER YOUR SERIAL NUMBER HERE </string>

save the file.

Do the same thing with com.cakewalk.rp.plist

Then do it all over again for the 1.2.2 update.

The good new is that it gets easier the more you do it. It took me 6 hours to deal with Dimension Pro 2 days ago when I bought it for $99 - and today it took less than an hour to install Rapture...

Ok i am getting the installer to run but I get this error now everytime i put my serial into the registration area in the terminal
