I didn't notice anything until I started my Host and I noticed the Effects list was awful short. Opened the Directory in Explorer and I only see 7 or 8 files total, all part of Am_track. yikes. :hihi:
It told you that it will delete all the files!
:dog: WHY would it do that?!

That is the first installer I've seen in 25 years that has decided it will clear out files before installing. (Meaning, I've seen a lot of installers and none of them have done that)

I've heard of uninstallers being too thorough but never an installer..

oh well.. live and learn.. don't install foreign language software before translation of the install dialogs. :hihi:

Subtraxx sounds pretty nice.. slightly thin and bright, but rich sounding.. nice effects too. Surprise out of the BE lineup for me..

Actually might end up using it.

I was tempted to completely skip it. And the beauty of it is.. no installer.. no serial number.. nothing but just a dll to place where you so please :hihi:

i installed am-track 2 days ago and have not had any problems using winXP and flstudio 10, i can't read german either but just installed it like any other software like i did with !j Developement ninja, where the installer is in german but i haven't had problems since, the limitations of the SE AM-Track is that it only have half the actual program since AMTrack is based on two compressor mode, you only get one mode, but i haven't had programs deleted.

What you mean?

It's a lite version, with less features than the full version.

One less feature actually. Just One note polyphony instead of 4. 8)

My experience is that these companies are ones that aren't based in the EU - the data protection laws in the EU have pretty severe penalties laid out for that kind of behaviour - financially it doesn't make sense to sell the info, because the fines are so much greater than the income you'd make.

I'm much more cautious with US companies (and companies in other dodgy countries).

Congratulations.
Thank you. It looks like I deserve them. I didn't mess with the default install patch, which, as it seems, saved me a lot of trouble. It's another reminder to approach installers with caution. :o

I guess this promo didn't work too good for Magix, this facepalm installer feature plus the trouble registering Vandal people were complaining about in the other thread. Some respect points down the drain. I had bought their reverb second hand some time ago and the support gave me rather grim experience, having me feel sort of threatened. So they drop beneath the threshold for me.

On the other hand Aalto Beat or CM version, which is the same, is quite fantastic. Polyphony restriction is no biggie, it can be resolved loading more instances and certain midi plugins, if you need it badly and the synth is great fun IMO.

I got my vst Folder wiped out as well, installing amtrack not knowing German I just clicked stuff utill it installed and not a single plugin showed up in my host when I lanuched it. Fortunately for I'm on windows 7 64 and I found a simple right click the folder feature that had an option to restore previous versions and aparently it had a version from 2days ago and it worked. never going to install a plugin that I can't read the language for again.

Another reason to always have current images and backups
