Ok, I could use a female midi extension cable, but I was wondering if just connecting the 2 micro jacks( or what ever they are called) to each irig would work.
Also to feed the input of two ipads from the same source, would it be possible to just use a Y cable or something ?

Ok found and got 2 mini to micro jack converters, and used them with a mini jack cable and made a loopback with the device.

And this works, didn't try the Y trick but it should work as long as you re not trying to merge the midi.

While I was at it I decided to check the latency on the devices.

Just using the loopback wire, sending single notes from cubasis and read both inputs (hardware out and cubasis out) in MidiVision (great tool btw).

As a total latency ( I/O) I got about 3 to 4 msec with Irig, the same with a line6 mobilizer II, which means about a 1.5 to 2 msec latency one way, which is pretty good imo.

Was a bit disapointed when I tried the iDock, using the standard midi I/O, as the total latency is around 8-9 msec, which is really a lot.
I'll have to make a test with the usb port to see if it's any better.

And this was just sending a single note, add midi clock, a bunch of CC and your timing is all around.
