The particular outbreak of 17-year cicadas we are experiencing in the southeastern US are called Brood X. The giant bugs get louder and louder outside every day. It sounds like… (well, you can kind of tell, they’re in my song) …but en masse they sound like the phasers on the old Star Trek TV show. You know when they would fire the phasers continuously to melt something? Well the cicadas sound like that all day long. And they get louder and louder! If you would like to see pictures I took of them in my neighborhood, click here.
I’m grateful to all the people who took the time to make comments about my song. I’m sure Beck gets indigestion every time someone compares me to him, but it makes me feel good. And if I’m improving, it’s thanks studying tracks by Donkey Tugger, CaptainMark (wherever he is) and Sleek Month - and the helpful comments of everyone who gives feedback. Not just to me, but all the submissions. Thanks for listening.
