:)

I have 2 questions:
1) Is there somekind of a global filter that controls all the oscillators at once?
2)What's the difference between Global FX 1&2, and the Master FX?

Thanks,
Erez

two questions - two topics. That's the deal!

Jokes aside, first answer is NO. It doesn't have a second filter.

The first topic purpose was to rant about the scottish accent :hihi:

Hmmm...no? Any "workaround"? Harmor for example doesn't have a global filter either, but it lets you the option to link the filters to each other so they open and close simultanously.

So anyways,
What's the difference between Global FX 1&2, and the Master FX?

Master Fx goes over the whole sound. Global can be assigned to individual oscillators - if I remember correctly. The global choice is next to the oscillator.

You are referring to the Insert which are per osc\element. But in the Global page there are both 2 Global FX and a Master FX.

There seems to be some people who don't have the manual installed with the software, so that's one from the Cakewalk forums. Be warned it's 73 pages long.

Thanks :) I actually have the manual though, but i haven't found what i was looking for in it, weird :S

Is it in scottish or english? :hihi:

On page 46 it says Global fx are applied to all Elements, then Master Fx are applied post step sequencer. So, it's basically 3 choices of Master FX. (That's what I take from it)

According to the Simon Cann book, the signal path is:

All elements in parallel -> Global FX1 -> Global FX2 -> Master Step Gen -> Master EQ -> Master FX -> Limiter

Does that help?

This is from the online help:

The Global page contains effects, EQ's and a Global Step Generator that adjusts Rapture's stereo output. Settings made here affect all elements within a program.

The Global page conducts the signal through the following path:

1. Global FX 1 (standard insert FX menu + controls, applied to all elements)
2. Global FX 2 (standard insert FX menu + controls, applied to all elements)
3. Global Step Generator; a Left/Right channel Step Generator output level modulator; note that this level gates even effects tails from upstream delay lines and reverbs
4. Master EQ section (3 standard multimode band EQs)
5. Master FX (standard insert FX menu + controls, applied to the post Global Step Generator mix)
The Global Step Generator is controlled in the same way as the Step Generator in the Modulator section, but instead provides discrete left and right channel control of Rapture's stereo mix.
