Hopefully you can now drop this, as per bluedad's request.
Sad that you did not heed your own advice.
Back to the synth, folks.

If you find the V+ working fully Ok in your system, you can add it there. It's also usefull info for us, and I guess a lot of people using the same config than you. :)
Works ok in Cubase too. (32/64b Win8/WinXp)

@Xavier:

Thanks for confirming the envelope difference. I hope it will be addressed in some future update.

Redundant paragraph: (Any chance for user adjustable chorus ensemble speeds and independent formant tuning for Male 8' voices? I'm missing some low woody gnarling down there  ;-) Or is this just a matter of vca distortion in the lowest octave? EDIT: No it's not - just checked back on the machine, it's definitely a Male 8' specific sound characteristic.)

Edit 2: Had a new listen to the VP. Please forget about independent formant tuning above. The optimum for fine tuning the human voices would be an additional V+ page (via a new rocker switch to the right?) to have access to the fixed filter bank which forms the sawtooth into the mellow human voice wave-form. That way each user could fine tune his V+. In my case I think it's one of the mid/high frequency fixed filters that creates that extra gnarling on the last octave Male 8' voice. So a user adjustable filter bank page would be a great solution

V+ also works great in AudioMulch and Bidule ...

Where is that post? I can't find it amongst all the "noise" - pity it can't be split out.

Thanks - I see now it was pretty brief. I was interested in whether there was a reason for the change.

el-folie knows his stuff and Xils V+ is candidate for VSTI of the year. Very exciting.
el-folie wrote:This morning I compared V+ to the VP-330MKI hardware and overall it's a pretty convincing emulation. But as always there are some smaller/unimportant differences like between two hardware units/different calibrations but also one big difference so far which I think is very important for a spot on emulation.

The attack envelope in the human voice section behaves differently on the hardware. On V+ it's like a normal attack time stage like on the strings section. On the hardware the attack slider in the human voice section seems to be part of a complete envelope that forms an attack at the beginning + a fixed decay stage and the volume falls back on a lower sustain level than it begins with when pressing a key. Of course this behaviour is monophonic and so, when you hold a chord or some notes in the lower octaves and play some notes in the higher octaves those higher notes are significantly quieter (as the lower sustain level is being held). This makes a big difference in sound and playing style so I think it should be noted for the next update. I remember this behaviour also from a Solina String Ensemble I once had.

Also this attack/decay behaviour is crucial for the gnarling human voice sound in the lowest notes, so I'd be glad if this would be emulated. I already used the mod envelope to form the special attack/decay but as it's polyphonic only (a mono switch would be nice here) you don't get the same result when playing (every new note triggers the V+ mod envelope), and also you have to route the mod envelope to every human voice tone independently which occupies 4 modulation slots, so it's not a good workaround.

Additionally it would be nice to have the formant controls of the human voice section as modulation destinations as the low gnarling/woody sound starts at a lower formant and shifts up a bit with keyboard position in the lowest octave. In case you need audio examples or think that my VP330 is broken, please let me know ;-)

Oh and when I'm at it - it would also be nice to have direct control over the ensemble effect speeds and bucket brigade low pass filter (like a brilliance control) as they also differ from hardware machine to hardware machine.

Works fine in Ableton Live 9.0.4 (32-bit) (Windows 7 32-bit)

Also works in Reaper 4 32-bit but i have used it much less in that host.

I added infos about use in my hosts here:

I collected my audio demos i already posted here in this new thread at the Xils Lab forum:

Other members of the Xils forum are free to add their own audio demos there.

Will someone from Xils please tell me what page in the manual it explains how to use v+ as a traditional vocoder.

ie...a separate synth as. Carrier?

thanks,
