Best synth $50-100

You know, I own String Studio and a couple of their plugins, many people seem to like A.S.S. plugs, so you never know, one day I might consider selling if the price is rightel-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:which presumes you have an arse worth buying...hopefully you never have to find out

-Life time free updates, For some the gui of Harmfull is not working and I.L. won't fix it saying it's the DAW's fault, also I have never recieved any update emails. They have also discontinued some products, so that lifetime free updates for them products are definately non existant.Numanoid wrote: The way they do business, you mean?:
-Life time free updates,
-no copy protection dongle,
-any purchased IL product can be used on as many machines the users wants
-no copy protection dongle, I have no problem with dongles, in fact I prefer them to Challenge/Response. Also downloading and installing bought presets for toxic biohazard was a PITA, needing some sort of online software to do so, it was especially a pain because my music pc is offline.
-any purchased IL product can be used on as many machines the users wants, I only have one pc for music so this is a non issue for me personally.
If I want to sell my license I should be allowed to, simple and for whatever reason, either not liking it, subject to requirements or financial, why should they give the excuse of it being due to lifetime updates that they do not actually allow it, when it is the case that not all the plugins get updated ever, yes I know if it ain't broke don't fix it but some people have a broken I.L. plugin...I just think they should do the right thing and allow it, that would make me think more of them as a company, period.

Haven't read all the suggestions, but you can always find a coupon for DiscoDSP in the marketplace and pick up Corona pretty cheap. Good value that one. Sounds huge.

Some logic missing here.breakmixer wrote:I have no problem with dongles, in fact I prefer them to Challenge/Response. You have no problems with dongles, but at the same time criticize IL for having to be online to download content.
Last time I checked iLok require that you authorize and download licenses to your iLok while being online. I guess the same goes for eLicenser. So that is not a PITA but IL downloading is a PITA?

synthmaster is the best choice at the $100 level with the standard package and getting 3 of Nori's preset bundles. It's always getting updated and the factory library is being added to all the time and it can use third party content intended for other synths like some of the the cakewalk stuff which is priced at only $20 including the DSF add ons in the cakewalk store.
Rapture for $20 is a total no brainer given the large amount of free add on material like the muzeum by fr4ncisco also his newest add on pack normally $40 is on sale for $20 now if you buy direct from his site. http://fisound.com/product/universal-120/
I wish the Piscis and architecture add ons would go on sale at Galbanum. Those rock.

Easy, yes elicenser, you plug your dongle into an online pc that has the elicenser software on it, enter the activation code and license will download to it, then it is plug and play on the studio pc, not a problem.Numanoid wrote:

The image line software was not so fluid and very confusing just to install some presets to a synth i have already authorised from the same company?
As for Ilok, I'm not a fan, that is a PITA, Like in the case of Xils Lab offering both Ilok and elicenser, I choose elicenser...
PS Selling elicenser stuff is easy too(and not impossible like in the case of I.L.), plug in another dongle and swap the VST to the other one(or simply sell the dongle and any license on it), no need to pay a transfer or wait for the company to do it. Also when you get a new pc it's install elicenser once and plug and play...
BTW I have my own mind, If I choose not to support I.L. or like their methods then that is my choice...

if you buy the elicenser from Xils Lab it costs 12.00 EUR = 15.44 USD, then I just go to post it or hand it over, doesn't cost alot, probably not much in it between the two. I've only had to do this once but it worked out fine.TheoM wrote:hmm i always choose to pay the ilok fee.. the transfer can be done in 20 seconds, i get to keep my dongle, and there is no ship involved, all for 25$
ie if i buy xils V+ i'll definitely choose ilok

BTW they seem to have excelled themselves on that release, will be one of the first VST's I buy this year...TheoM wrote:ie if i buy xils V+ i'll definitely choose ilok
