That said, I'm still loving Spire's sound.

Hmm.. It's rather strange that on S1 it's quite low... I wonder what Diva would be like on it. I might have to purchase it just to find out.

There is quite noticeable CPU consumption in S1 v2. (but that's with 96 Khz) Two oscillators with one note pressed gives me 22% CPU loading. Hopefully it will be optimized. Other than that - Fantastic synth! Oscillators sound really good, filters too. Hopefully Lp4 filter will be added soon.

I'd be interested on your thoughts regarding the audio demo's after you've tried the plugin demo.Jeremy_NSL wrote:MP3s are really impressive! I'm going to try the demo.

I'm using a pretty much top of the line iMac with extra ram (although, it's about year and a half old now it - was when I bought it).TheoM wrote:what super mac mate! you are the only one in the topic! everyone else says it's a killer, something doesn't add up! what buffer? there must be something that's different as to why you are getting good performance.Robmobius wrote:I'm using it on the mac. The CPU hit is pretty low.TheoM wrote:ok well i am going to test in studio one myself on mac to see if that correlates to the mac version. I'd be happy to use S1 to at least write some parts with this then bring them into logic (where spire is currently "real world project" unusable due to the cpu). Fingers crossed!
If you could be bothered, and i'd TOTALLY appreciate it alot, if i can find a patch and choose a specific polyphony, and max out that polyphony without making any other alterations to the patch, and tell you how much studio one uses here in precise %% on it's cpu display, would you be willing to do that same test to compare percentages?
Also just to verify, what super mac are you really running? like a mac pro or something? hexa? or a top shelf imac?
I'm the only one in the thread? There's someone else who said pretty much the same thing re. S1. In fact, I replied to him (or her).
And no, I'm afraid I don't have time to get you facts and figures.
But good luck with it tho'.

Windows 7, S1 v2, 44.1 khz Pad Jupiter preset with just only one note pressed - 21-30% CPU loading. But all the subsequent notes (up to 14) showing 75%. So what does it mean? Any conclusions from this?

Frankly, with you passive aggressive attitude your're not...TheoM wrote:WOW i am not even worth 20 seconds, yet you spent far more time already bragging how little cpu it uses.
Call my claim complete BS, I couldn't care less... It's no wonder you keep getting banned here.

I would not call it a cpu killer. There are some synths with much higher cpu loading. Hopefully they will not reduce the quality of the synth during the code optimisation. It has nice snappy fast envelopes and really clean creamy sound. Really good modern synth.
