You're probably asking the wrong question. If you set out with expectations of being able to sing like artist x, y or z and you can't it probably means you don't sing as well as your expectation and thus maybe you don't sing 'well'.
But if you think about whether or not your singing voice works well for the songs that you sing then it either does or it doesn't. Your singing is fine and it works well with that song, so not much more to say. Sure, you might be able to improve with practice or take lessons or whatever, but nothing wrong with it the way it is.
Having an awful, not so good, average or OK voice has never stopped many artists from recording or being popular. Even getting praise for being great singers in some cases where they're anything but.
Don't worry about other people's opinions as to whether you sing 'well' as your voice works with the song and that should be end of story. It's like playing guitar, once you get to the point where you can make all the chord changes and play with the right rhythm you're good - beyond that it's all icing on the cake.
