Great tune ... :!: ;)

Post

Indeed. Lovely one.

Post

I just updated the vocoder setups for using Xils V+ in Reaper 4 at the previous page (both with using an internal and an external carrier).

_ Fixes a crash with VST3 (mac/windows)
_ build correctly the Dongle free demo
_ Fixes the windows installer (doesn't display several time the same panel after click on the back/next button)
_ Fixes the VST3 installer for mac (provide the correct version )
The windows installer problem mentioned above still exists. It asked one time for the 32bit VST 2.4 and 3.0 paths, but multiple times (3-4 times) for the 64bit paths.

Hi folks.
I'm a great fan of xils lab.
Using mostly XILS soft synths, I have put together a brief track to show case the kinds of textures I love getting from these awesome instruments.

http://www.boxapixels.com/fin/XILS_Demo_Fin.mp3

If you're interested to know what's doing what....

XILS V+ -> string pads, high strings, vocal pad.
Synthix -> slow percussions, sweeping pitch pads, high-register bubble sequences, one layer of bass line.
XILS-3 -> Bass lines, fx.
PolyKB II -> square lead

Arturia Spark VDM -> Main rhythm

Logic Audio on a Macbook Pro.

Enjoy!
:)

Great track !!

It would be great if XILS-lab either had a pdf or a link on their V+ product page outlining step-by-step with illustrations how to set-up the V+ as a vocoder using both internal and external carrier in ALL compatible DAWS.

Ingo has done a marvelous job showing how it's done.

Having it all compiled into one easy to access document/web page would make it easier than having to search through this thread.

Just a thought.

BTW enjoyed the track by Fin showcasing XILS instruments. Love the PolyKB. Nice work!

I see the same problem. Such informations are more or less "lost" in such threads after a while. As this thread is not started by myself or Xils Lab the informations could also not be collected at the original post.
Maybe it would have been clever to start a new thread after the official release.
BTW the thread title does not include the official name of the synth which is "Xils Lab V+"). It looks like the first post of the OP was also the last one in this thread...

I alreaedy planned to collect those vocoder setups in a new thread at the Xils Lab forum soon.

I have already done that with my audio demos that i posted here:
http://www.xils-lab.com/xo_phpBB/viewto ... =33&t=3855
Other Xils Lab forum members are free to post their demos there too.

AFAIK Xils Lab will do tutorials themselves too.

Ingo, the problem with XILS' forum -as I see it- is that each and every post must be manually OKd by Xavier; so posting there is a bit slow...

What about also having a XILS subforum here at KVR?

Just an idea... ;)

A forum here would be OK for me if it's not me that has to be the mod...

About posts at the Xils forum:
No such problem for me but maybe it's because i am a Beta tester. I remember that in the past i had the same problem of waiting for my posts to appear.

BTW my audio demos and screenshots are dropbox links that also work (including download) for non-registered users (both here and at the Xils user forum).

It is exactly what is planned. Not all Daws of course, but a few of them, so that people can adapt easily the scheme to their own DAW if its not in the list.

Its to avoid Xils forum readers to find new topics about very weird things, like pseudo natural medecines to recover your virility etc :hihi:

Well we're continuously validating posts on the Xils forum, and yes sometimes it a bit slow. There is no time left to maintain another forum. on an external site.

Impressed... :o

Does the sidechain work in the non iLok demo? I usually see a drop down menu showing all the possible sidechain tracks in Logic but don't see anything in the V+ sidechain selection area..
Thanks... I'm burning to give the vocoder a test.

I think a subforum here would be a great idea. It would not only be much more active (the current method really discourages people from posting- I don't know of any forums that are very active where posts need to be approved), but would also probably lead to new customers from people wandering into the forum out of curiosity.
