Just twiddle some knobs and make it look groovy, no one will know. ;)

It's so obvious that I wondered if it's some lip-syncing competition or something? Anyone from that part of the world know?

One doesn't have to look very hard to find bad DJing. IMNSHO, this is the trainwreck of the year (well last year, but it will be hard to top this year).

It's like rapping. You don't realise how tricky it is until you hear someone completely mess it up. Where I used to live, a guy down the road used to 'rap' with his windows open (often around school kicking out time - there was one at the end of the road - which was a bit creepy). He was bad. And not in the Michael Jackson sense.

Spot on! Like rapping, if you think that there's nothing to it, then you should try it. The key though, is recording yourself so that you can play it back later. I'll be the first to admit that DJing is technically easier than it used to be, but, even so, people always thought that there wasn't anything to it. For some reason, it just looks easy. I remember playing at an intimate house party and some people were curious about what I was doing. This was back in the vinyl days FWIW. Since it was quite early, and quite informal, I explained and they even said, out loud, "that doesn't look that hard!" Of course, I invited them to try and even gave them some tips. As expected, "two shoes in a dryer." They walked away with a new appreciation and we were only talking about syncing two records.

The noise of the guitar at the same time as the slap makes it. :hihi:
Reminds me of years back when I was in highschool in Ireland there was a talent contest and this guy was singing with a semi-acoustic guitar. During a song someone in the audience pelted an uneaten apple at him and it bounced off the guitar with an almighty BLEEEEEAAAAARNGGG over the P.A system. You could hear it for miles around.

DuX wrote:I honestly can't find any resemblance to Rebbeca Black's videos in these. Rebecca was [is?] well funded and it was supposed to be a kind of a hit, and these are all just poor people trying to make something out of nothing, and I kinda like both videos.

It's the perception of the people that's wrong, not everybody can afford a plastic surgeon, a great producer, great mastering, video maker etc. However, they should have hired at least a proper mixer... :hihi:

Anyway, how can you tell some of them aren't really talented from these videos? OK, I must admit it makes me laugh a bit, too... but given the proper management ANY IDIOT can be a "star" nowadays, you know? That's my whole point.

Rebecca Black is unique because even the proper team didn't realise how bad it was, I suppose. :hihi: Or most probably they were just paid enough and didn't ask any questions... just did it for the sake of money-god. :hihi:

Anyway, all this money driven BS is just not my department... I ride on pure art and if it makes some money in the process, the better. That's how art is supposed to be, and music is an art-form isn't it? It's not striptease, right? If one wants to watch striptease, you go to a striptease club, right? ;D
I agree. All that's needed is a paperbag for Tan Mom's head and a ***tload of Autotune

What, you got something against moms? Moms need love too! When I was in high school my teenage girlfriend's mom came on to me hardcore. She, the mom, not my gf, was at least twice the size and twice as homely as tan mom. I had to shut her down, not hard, really, but with a straight face, there was the challenge.
