I almost bought it but decided to think more about it (I have bought Rapture for $20 before). Hmmmm, I think I don't need it. The sounds I heard didn't convince me. It has also the same problem as Rapture in the Source Modulation (No LFO or ENV!!) so not that fun in sound design or tweaking. I'll pass :-)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

LFO or Env are always a modulation !

I mean in the Modulation Matrix. You don't have them and this is odd!

For it's current price (the 19USD offer) it's a good deal! (a steal actually)

There are quite some very nice patches in there, very inspirational.
Many good roland'ish sounds, actually i detected some preset patches from earlier synths in there (although slightly adjusted).

I've owned it for years, but don't really use it. If somebody is looking for the software equivalent of a JV-1080, DimPro might be a suitable match, especially at $20.

any comments regarding the EMU expansion packs?

I got Dim Pro with Sonar X2 and though I don't have that much of a frame of reference nor use it for synthesis I love the presets and GUI. Very slick.

No one mentioned the expansion pack 3 but it has some amazing acoustic bass sounds. No idea how this holds up to let's say Trilian but it's more than enough to impress me.

I regret the limited multitimbral nature but I understand loading multiple instances of the plugin don't accumulate but draw their patches from one instance in memory although I'm unsure whether this is inherent to Sonar or Dim Pro itself.

I've purchased & installed Dimension Pro, I already like some of the sounds! For the price, I'd say it was a pretty good buy - unless you are looking for your first general sound library. For the price, even a handful of good sounds would suffice.
Actually, I've used Sound Center before that came with Sonar LE and liked some of the presets, roughly knew what I was getting. Wanted the full 64bit version VSTi.

If you haven't got free Expansion Packs, you should now. Those sounds from RGC are too good for a free download.

Although, I'm having a problem. Apparently some sustaining sounds, such as Dulcimar Tremolos, are cut off while the keys still held down. They stop playing after some time, 1.5 sec or so.
I know how it should sound, as it also appears in the Sound Center. Definitely different.

Is this only me? I suppose so...

The thing I can think of is, I've installed those to other folders than the default.
VST - c:\VSTPlugins\64only\Dimension Pro
Samples - f:\DataLibrary\Dimension Pro
Others - somewhere in c:\Program Files

Any idea how I can resolve this would be higly appreciated.

It is not you. The Sound Center version of Dulcimar Tremelo loops, the DimPro version does not. You can load the Dulcimar Tremelo sfz from Sound Center into DimPro and it loops there too. The only difference I see in the two are the samples, in Sound Center they are wav and DimPro are flac. Might be worth entering a bug report with CW

Thank you scook! You've nailed it down.
I learned a little about sfz, and it looks like the loop information is actually stored in each wav. Perhaps flac does not have such meta data?

Sound Center version Dulcimar sfz loaded into Dimension Pro, it looped nicely.
There are bunch of other sounds in Dimension Pro presets that are missing the loop. It sounds so obvious, it's quite a mystery to me if nobody has complained before...
Anyways, I'll try to find a way to report this to Cakewalk.

i disagree 20$ is all you need to get started
you can create and load your own sfz and get a good sound library
does the dimension pro come with the garritan orchestra ?
i have installed dimension LE with the garritan orchestra and i love it
what are the other option to load sfz ?
