It looks like Palm Sounds let the cat out of the bag.
A Studio integrated into Amplitube.
"IKM Adds a new Studio Section and says that Amplitube is now a full DAW"
http://www.palmsounds.net/2013/05/ikm-a ... -says.html
Edit: It appears to be on iTunes now too: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amplitu ... mpt=uo%3D4
What's New in Version 3.0
NEW STUDIO SECTION TURNS AMPLITUBE INTO A FULL-FLEDGED DAW
- Studio section* (available via in-app purchase) offers DAW features such as cut/copy paste, normalize, fade in/out, punch in/out recording and much more
- AutoFreeze feature allows for full effects chain on every recorder track
* requires iPhone 4, iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 or later

The exclusive content like the amp above would indicate something similar to that, yes. Also something AmpliTube Metal exclusively for certain users will be mentioned tomorrow too.autodafe wrote:Amplitube Metal for iPad....

Interesting.... So I'm thinking maybe ik should have a think about a fully fledged daw on ios. I'm a dance music producer from london and have used ik products since your first ever release and must admit your products are a force now in the audio software market. Ios needs a daw that is capable of midi and audio with decent fx processors, midi editor, audio tracks. Now I know there are apps that do this but so far they all fall short for serious edm. I produce breaks, drum and bass, house etc under various psydonyms and the ipad for me is at best a sketch pad.... But it really doesn't need to be as the short comings of ios daws is mainly midi features, and the built in fx processors. Beatmaker is kinda halfway but lacks in the fx processors in a big way, but it has audio tracks, midi, samplers, drum machine etc. Auria is the only choice for anything close to a pc daw yet it lacks midi and some other basic tools that are essential for serious production. Its IU is so sluggish. I'm sure it could be far more effecient. IK multimedia have the capability of making a fully fledged daw with all the trimmings as all the research u have done over the years has led you to be making some of the best audio software out there for pc. I guess ios now too even if I didn't really think much of amplitubes fx for ios when I tried it 6months ago. But that means nothing as u clearly could make them top notch and I'm sure u will... So yeah make a DAW for me so I can be away camping on the beach with my dog but still have the tools for making my edm. If u don't ask you don't get... Right? Peace

Ok, So it's now the 30th of May. I'm waiting for something new. It seems like I've been waiting forever for the 30th. It's here and there's nothing new. There was that in-app purchase for Amplitube that I bought yesterday - but that was so YESTERDAY. I want something new TODAY. It's the 30th!!!!

Yes, the cat was out of the bag early on that. Also, iRig HD out in the wild finally and with exclusive gear (on iOS and Mac) for iRig HD owners. Thanks.hueynym wrote:Ok, So it's now the 30th of May. Competing interests.Scott Murrell wrote:With all due respects you know this how?Pete C wrote:You might want to forget about this idea because it has no chance of ever happening.Scott Murrell wrote:-Wouldn't it be cool if:
In Sampletank for our iPads you have the ability to layer up to four sounds and some of those sounds are really good (some aren't so great) but what if you could use those four blocks to load in your favorite sounds from Sampletank and other apps also and save them as a preset?
I know Audiobus kind of lets you connect sounds together but if I understand correctly you can't save anything as a preset at least right now you can't and that's al that counts if you're a gigging musician.
Why can't the developers of Sampletank get together with the developers of say, iMini, Synergy, Nanostudio, BS 16i, etc... and give us a super app?
Time constraints.
Vague target, payoff uncertain.
EACH of these could be enough by itself to keep any given company from playing, but all three combine to generate a roll of the eyes and a shrug of the shoulders.
Consider designers and programmers: these are skilled, stressed, and often cantankerous, especially when told how to do their jobs; they also moonlight as testers and bug crushers, and may well get sucked into support issues. This means they're busy, and a busy programmer typically works WAY more than 8 hours minus breaks in a day. Getting involved in your workflow automation super-app would require one programmer and one designer, at a minimum, from each of the companies. If they can't afford to hire 2 people just for that, they'd need to pull them off what they're already working on (or worse, dump it on TOP of what they're already juggling), which will have a negative impact on whatever else the company is depending on them to produce. This would be EXPENSIVE in this economy for an app-maker to commit to a project that depends completely upon a committee of their competitors doing stellar work given a vague target and an uncertain market.
Any sane company would walk away from it as casually as Pete. C did: they have products, and plans, and schedules, and they're staffing for their actual needs; no sane manager would say, "we're doing great, and the future is bright, but screw this, let's do something else, something we can't pull off by ourselves - sound like fun?"
If YOU feel YOU can adequately design what you're talking about, then maybe you should do that. Then maybe you could get a programmer's opinion of what it would take in time and money to make it real. Then you could figure out how many copies you'd have to sell at various price points in order to pay the programmer(s) as much as you think you deserve for your part, AND pay yourself. Then you could actually look at the market and see if you're making something enough other people like you will buy at your price to make it affordable to do...and whether you stood a chance in hell of getting a single established product line on-board.
Heck, read up on what the Audiobus guys went through, then ask your questions again.
At that point, you'd know whether you had a sound basis for a business loan, or a terrific learning experience and a better understanding of how stuff like this works.
Hope that answers your question.
