Absolutely. I LOVE their business model. How many of us have been seduced by a "no brainer" deal or lured into a crossgrade we never really wanted? How many of us have bought something to find it 50% off the following week?

There's no games here - Spectrasonics set a price (and a great upgrade price for owners of earlier products which share some DNA) and that's it. No introductory discounts, no sales ever. Absolutely brilliant. And it doesn't just hold it's value - it GAINS value. As you just sit on it, Eric just throws stuff your way every once in a while, til you have 8,000 presets not 1,000 and a whole raft of new features you'd never even thought of before.

The mere fact that they haven't had a new product they earn money from for what 4 years now and yet are still doing great business says it all.
I completely agree.

Omni is "only" at 1.5xx. So much can happen with the free 1.7 update. The value add-on in Stylus RMX was tremendous IMHO with Time Designer -- easily a for-pay 2.0 update elsewhere.

Free 1.7 update?? Is there some info on this plan somewhere?
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

That update was for RMX and it was surreal. The Omnisphere 1.5 free update was incredible too.

10-4.

Wish I would have bought the Spectrasonic's Trilogy years ago. Recently picked up Omnisphere and it is a for sure go-to every time I open up the Ol' DAW.

Dont really know why I am watching all the threads about updates as I have to confess that my number one goal with Omni right now is to just..... MAKE IT THROUGH THE PROCESS OF RATING ALL THE PRESETS!!! Good God!, there is more than you can even dream of!

Had a friend come over one weekend and get sucked into Omnisphere for about 3 solid hours. When he finally came to he said, "Yeah, I think I just about went through all of the presets". This caused me to laugh wildly and sinister...(illy?) secretly knowing that that would be like unto building one of the 7 wonders. Nice thought though, I'd love to make it through them, this year... :)

In my book, that's even better pricing than you are asking for. ;-)

Ask yourself....what other company has done that in the software or hardware synth world? The answer is: None.
Wow! That's very generous of Spectrasonics. And they're adding more in the next update! Will have to take a closer look at Omnisphere.

New patches are always cool, but many of those took advantage of new features included in the free updates, and that's what causes jaws to drop.

Pro Tools 11 should be here in the next couple of weeks, it'd be nice to get some update from Spectrasonic's on when they'll be releasing their plugs in AAX format.

I have Omni and Trillian - amazing products.

Only thing I haven't bough is Stylus RMX, because honestly I don't really understand what it is. I have watched the videos but it still leaves me a bit confused. is it a sample player seq? is it Native Instruments Maschine without the hardware?

Doesn't really matter , I will buy it and throw it into the arsenal eventually everything they do seems really good and high quality and useful. Plus it will keep those programmers programming that the sample dues recording. get them more coffee damnit we want more product! haha.

RMX is a loop mangler.
