Are your hands giving you problems or are you being self-deprecating?

Post

...because, dude, I've heard you play and you shred.

lolz, I appreciate it but yeah, my arm is really giving me trouble again. Not the hands anymore, the arm (they think maybe tennis elbow? Really don't know for sure)

This thicker neck helping thing IS MOST CERTAINLY not working yet!

I have an appointment on the 18th of June. I'm pretty worried about it. Have my tennis elbow things on right now. Mentally, I want to play, but physically I don't feel like it.

Not sure that it's much help for guitar, but I've had RSI issues and I found that by learning to mouse with my left hand, it helps a lot. I find that I have to keep switching, but, the switch period gives my arm a rest and I no longer have the constant pain that I used to have.

I switched to a trackball a few months ago, no problem with my hands...I just wanted one...not on my daw though...it's cool. BTW how does switching to your left for your mouse help your arm for playing guitar...isn't it the left hand that is the problem hibidy?

Not had much time (for a change) to work on my own stuff but I've just mixed down the second track that goes with the previous one I posted here, Its BAU 7-string for the most part with same old one man idiot (me) responsible for everything on it https://www.dropbox.com/s/lddd7i2c90o7f ... own%29.wav
Still no new toys to talk about though :( Although like the previous track I did utilize my beloved 'real' pedals, amp heads/preamp/power amp/combos, Cabs and Mics side-by-side with fully ITB plugins where I'm still relatively a newcomer. Track 01 is this one just in case anyone wants to torture their ear's twice https://www.dropbox.com/s/ro0vqnevfr44l ... own%29.wav

Window shopping is bloody painful, Chris mate sorry to hear the arm is giving you a hard time still and wish it well or at least a coping strategy to come ASAP

John, Nice little practice rig you got setup in the living room mate  :tu:

All the best to everyone as always :D

Depends what hand he is dominant with. Myself I am kind of, but not quite, ambidexterous so it really helps in that way. There are times when I have had to use an arm rest on the chair to help out using the mouse...

Of course I meant simply that if one could play guitar, left handed, then the motions would be different and your arms would both get a rest. That's why I said, I don't think that it would help much for guitar because you'd pretty much have to relearn all of your muscle memory. That said, if I faced not playing guitar ever again or learning how to play left handed, I would try learning to play left handed.
