Agreed.
I think the developer is aware of that because the default Ini patch has a touch of attack and release.

It could be for that Juno type sound. I know to get a good Attack on SE synths a little trick I'd do is set the first parameter at -1 instead of zero. This is coded, so I'm not sure it's relevant though.

I don't really care for Sylenth, but yes, it's great to see an active developer. Would much rather support them than any product with little or no attention.

Nice to see the X64 update! :D

I am trying hard to like this synthesizer, but the performance in Live9 X64 on OSX is still really big.

here is a screenshot of what I mean.

I was just noodling around with some presets and came across this pad sound. I played a bunch of random chords on my qwerty keyboard in live to generate some polyphony and I was getting about 52% of my Cpu eaten up.

Fwiw its Im on a 2011 late MBP (2.4ghz i7 Quad, 2GB Ram)

2 GB of RAM? That has to be a typo. If not, RAM up my friend :)

The extra RAM won't help with Spire and the heavy CPU hit, but ... that has to be a typo.

So, where can I find this "Spire" synth of which you all speak so highly?

The developer's site (as noted in the first post of this thread) is unreachable, and a Google search only shows sites like KVR and Rekkerd mentioning the synth. (To be honest, I didn't read all 33 pages of this thread. Since the developer's site is down, I assumed the VST could be found somewhere else or is no longer offered.)

Here's some of my stuff: https://soundcloud.com/shadowsoflife. If you hear something you like, I'm looking for collaborators.

Unfortunately, Spire is not even close to sounding as good as Sylenth.

Spire 0.9.5 works well in Cubase 7 64 bit, but I can't seem to get it to show up in Studio One 2.5.2 64 bit on OSX

I like this synth, but unfortunately it's too cpu heavy for me. Until the dev can optimize it, i won't be getting it.

I suppose that depends on what the individual user expects from a Synth.
Sylenth to me doesn't sound very good at all until you dial in loads of reverb/delay and unison. Even then it sounds cheap to me.

Spire has a unique sound that appeals to anyone who appreciates the unusual timbres it produces. Timbres that Sylenth isn't capable of due to its limited waveform capability.
