Hello KVR !

I recently downloaded Ableton Live 8 64bit and discovered that there is no
backward compatibility with 32bit plugs (which is a shame imo :x ).
I have some precious 32bit plugs and wanted to know what is the
best bridge soft on the market (stability, cpu load, compatibility...).

Thanks for your answers ! :)

There is only one with a great reputation and compatibility: jBridge.

Thanks I saw this one and was considering it, seems to be the best solution...

I use Jbridge with Ableton Live 8 and 9 64bit. It's a bit iffy with some 32bit synths but the 32bit effects plugins are ok.
Jbridge is what I'm using with Soundtoys effects until the 64bit ones come out.

Thanks for the info Kaboom. Btw am I the only one who thinks that such an important soft as Live should support backward compatibility ?
I mean come on, Reaper x64 perfectly deals with 32 or 64bit plugins. How is it possible to make such a stupid decision...

Maybe with Jbridge already being available they didn't want to spend time making a bridger instead of other features.

This was what they pretty much stated on the forums

I do wish they would have at least taken the time to do the full jbridge integration though. The Dev offers any hosts that want it an easy way to do bridging automatically directly through jbridge, so you point your host to the jbridge install and then you can use both x32 and x64 without having to go through the manual bridging process.

I think the only one thats taken him up on that was sonar though

Since they stated they are aware of jbridge and didnt see a need, may as well provide your users the best support possible with your recommended third party solution

Good point. I imagine loads of support requests too if they would implement a bridge. :)
