lol @ "BOY O BOY"
Thanks for the demo, wakax, it confirms that the DAC/encoding selections are great. It's really awesome to have so flexible control of each.

David, you need to showcase the encodings in a video more thoroughly, not the impulses (which are excellent), great stuff.

Thanks yes, I want to make an example just with the DAC stuff and explain it more. However, with youtube compression, the finer differences in gritt inside the dynamic range might get lost there. Hence why I'll always have a freq analyser side by side.

Yep, Youtube's horrible quality would mutilate that audio. Anyway, I think an audio file would be enough to convince people that it's seriously refreshing stuff.

Yep, and a "no brainer", as they say, only this time it's actually true.

I don't know if this is a bug or an error on my part but somehow my Chipsounds presets are showing up in the user presets section of Chipcrusher.

I'd also like to field a question. What would be the best settings to make SID synth emulation more realistic? I'm not sure I'm really going for the TV sound, but just somethig that would emulate what happened between the SID chip's output and a middle of the range stereo.

Actually, could the '64 be connected to a stereo? I know my Amiga was, but mostly we used the breadbin with a TV I guess.

Thank you for the info. I hope to remember to check it out. I now demo everything first, as I found that not everything works on my outdated system.

Its normal as both products share our in-house engine, but really I should block each other "master presets" from seeing each other, since it doesn't make much sense here.

The C64 had a DIN output at the back :

Which people mostly used with a Commodore 1701/1702 Monitor or later and the audio was directly fed through it.

While that was the setup for many people (WHich is why I've made TWO 1701 impulses - one dry and one wet - running a test signals through its RCA input), others like me, usually sent the audio signal to a mini stereo (with a Y cable) to feed both left and right to get better sound.

Also while the SID's internal filter is well known, the various motherboard revs of C64s and C128 all had RC filters, which could be impulsed as well.

Could include that in an update. Working with hardware is always a welcome break from coding for me.

Instant buy here too. The first few examples of the speakers perked my ears and I grabbed my wallet. Been waiting a really long time for something exactly like this!!!

I remembered seeing this on the plogue boards a while ago and had forgotten about it. Will definitely pick this up, glad to see something new from Plogue.

Finally!
I've been waiting for this for some time now.

I don't think I'll be waiting for the demo version... but someone must answer some quick questions 1st:

Is the CPU consumption reasonable?
Does it have latency?

Depends on your machine, but people who know me, know that my stuff needs to run on my 2006 Athlon 64 X2 machine running XP, and this does very well.
3ee wrote:Does it have latency?
The DAC Encoding part does, but if you turn that off, and set the plugin to live mode (settings tab), you can play the IR part with zero latency live.
Otherwise, PDC in your DAW should correct this, but as you know it depends on the host's support of PDC.
