Different MO today... a sample-based piece made with Octatrack, iPhone and pedals. Lofi in the extreme.

You have some interesting effects on here. That percussion almost sounds tribal from 1:25-3:07. What is that stepped filtering effect that starts at about 2:14? Is it from the Octatrack or one of your Strymon boxes? Definitely rather different from your "regular" tracks.

Something I noticed just now during my 4th listen was that the groove changed completely compared to the first 3 playthroughs. I get that occasionally with some tracks. I suppose I must be focusing on a different beat in the bar, but it's odd when something like that creeps up on you.

Good work :)

:( I missed you too, man!!!

Geez, I better try to pull myself together....

I enjoyed this. It reminds me of when a record skips at an interesting point and instead of getting up and moving the needle right away, you sit and listen for a minute or so. Except on this track, you kept moving the needle to another section that also skips. Quite cool. 8)

You sir have a good ear for sampling. The timbres in this piece are really pleasing to the ear and you wove all these disparate pieces together really well to create grooves, that well... grooved.

Yup Tim, that's the Octatrack doing the quick filter sweeps.
