got an iphone 4s to replace my 3gs last year .. recently i grabbed my old 3gs to play some music stuff (drums so i could jam over with my new phone) anyway none of the 3rd party apps would open at all.. a girl in the phone centre said that it's probably because the sim is removed.. seems unlikely to me but i may be wrong.. surely you can still have use off the apps installed on your old phone.. anyone clear this upp..? anyone using an old phone to play apps?

I can still use the apps on my old 3GS.
But my apps aren't updating
Think it's getting confused trying to install iOS5.

I had the same issues with an old HTC.
Just put a cheap pre-paid card in your phone and all is fine.
