Will OSC allow more than one 1st prize winners or will OSC insist on having only one 1st prize winner. With multiple prize winners, voting will be easier, but quality may take a dip.
Looking at Van Cliburn international piano competition 2009, there was a tie for 1st place. Both got the 1st prize awards.

Thats easily fixed. The two tied go back to the public for another vote for 1 and 2.gigue07 wrote:Will OSC allow more than one 1st prize winners or will OSC insist on having only one 1st prize winner. With multiple prize winners, voting will be easier, but quality may take a dip.

Lol, anyone else getting a message from Soundcloud when you are commenting in everyones tracks?
Kind of , "Hey stop spamming or we will have to block your account".
Well it seems i will stop for today.
Ok, to avoid this, i would vote to set a rule to "Only one track per person". Although i know that few participants won't like this.
You can always do what Bzur did this month, gluing together both tracks (or three or whatever people come with)
What do you say?
Have a nice day

One track per person sounds okay. It would be strange if someone won all the first 5 or 6 prizes

Why not "one prize per person".. this makes it possible for people to submit more tracks and you don't have to be afraid of winning multiple prizes. Only your best rated track counts!Kondarivan wrote:One track per person sounds okay. It would be strange if someone won all the first 5 or 6 prizes

That's fine with me too, it'd cut down on the amount of entries for sure, ease on some of the listening to I think.IrionDaRonin wrote:Lol, anyone else getting a message from Soundcloud when you are commenting in everyones tracks?

Sounds reasonable. If I think of it, this is a much better alternative instead of one track per person. Fellows!
I'm going to enter this months OSC, so, to get in the spirit of the challenge i decided to check the previous entries and vote.
BUT! i'm not sure I've made 40+ posts yet, is there somewhere i can check that?
Also, once, long ago I've participated in a Synth 1 challange, does that give me voting rights? hehe.
Cheers!

Voted.
Had ten amazing top tracks in the shortlist. This was the worst pita ever to decide which track would be left out from the points.

point your mouse to your name on the left of your last posting, wait a short moment and magically the sought after number will pop up. 30 to go in your case!
Reply to this message and you are down to 29.
Cheers/Ruedi

Hmm, maybe an exception can be made? I guess i'll wait a little and if Yeager will not approve, i'll post my top 5 just for kicks!
I have to say, i'm really impressed with the majority of the tracks. Choosing the top 5 wasn't easy indeed!

The rule says that non participants voters must have 40 posts before the voting thread have been created.
But of course you can always send comments and feedback freely (as you said), or post comments in Soundclouds tracks.
I hope you can boost your messages at least for the next OSC and be part of the voters, or better yet, to participate in the contest.
Sorry for the bad news and strict rules, buddy.
In any case, welcome back, i hope you will have pleasant times with all of us here during the next months.
Have a nice day

I like one entry (song) per person instead of being allowed to spam the contest with a ton of entries and hoping one sticks.Kondarivan wrote:Sounds reasonable. I've actually won contests that way but when I think about it now.. it seems a little weird.
Plus it inflates the total number of songs in which to listen in order to vote.. thus increasing the time requirement to play. No thanks.
Just one song per person seems more reasonable.
(not that I'm planning on entering one of these any time soon

Thank's!IrionDaRonin wrote:I hope you can boost your messages at least for the next OSC and be part of the voters, or better yet, to participatee contest.
well, I do understand the strictness, I can wait
So, does this mean I also need 40+ posts to join the next OSC and that i can't be a part of this month's endeavor?
Cheers!
