From their web:
"REGISTRATION
Save the keycard graphic that was emailed to you to the desktop of your computer.
Then, drag and drop it on chipsounds standalone version.
chipcrusher should now be activated"
Activate chipcrusher using the standalone of chipsounds - typo?

Wow, just seeing that takes me back a few yearsdavidv@plogue wrote:
I'm guessing that 'crusher's manual is still in development at the moment? I searched on the downloads page and there are only instructions for Chipsounds.
Not that it's a difficult program to use, but I'd like some info on some of the encoding parameters - monotonicity (sounds like something a musicologist would come out with), and some of the encodings have mode selectors and other bits and bobs.
It's interesting how DPCM seems to produce a clearer signal the less bits you use. It's probably just adding treble distortion due to increasing square-ness of the wave but it actually sounds like the lower bitrate has more information (until you go below 4 bits, then all hell breaks loose).
I like the modified gear logos on the pictures. "Asia" instead of Casio, lol
I second the request for a wet/dry mix setting. It would make it easier to use the plugin for subtle colouring, which IMO is a *really* strong point.

David,
about the reported latency to host:
I tried possibly all combinations (including the PDC options within my DAW, mixer and rendering ones)
I also tried setting the plugin to "live mode" prior to the 1st post related to the problem and again.
There definitely seems to be something wrong regarding to the reported latency.
Hopefully it will get sorted out in the near future.
BTW
As I expected, very cool plugin, thanks for the intro price!

Care to tell me which host is it so that I can make sure I give it a good test run?3ee wrote: There definitely seems to be something wrong regarding to the reported latency.

The manual was part of the download link instructions. Might make it public only when demo is out.Sendy wrote: I'm guessing that 'crusher's manual is still in development at the moment? I searched on the downloads page and there are only instructions for Chipsounds.
Not that it's a difficult program to use, but I'd like some info on some of the encoding parameters - monotonicity (sounds like something a musicologist would come out with), and some of the encodings have mode selectors and other bits and bobs.
There are two settings apart from Resample rate that influences this encoding (from manual):Sendy wrote: It's interesting how DPCM seems to produce a clearer signal the less bits you use. DPCM (Differential pulse-code modulation)
Encoding based on the difference between two successive samples, this difference can be stored on one or more bits. One bit encoding is a special case and is simply called 'Delta Modulation'
Bits : Resolution [1;16]
d.bits : delta encoding bits [1;16] number of bits to represent the difference between two samples
So yeah if you raise the number of bits but keep d.bits low, the encoding cannot cope with the rapid changes on the waveform.
Yeah Eric here had fun doing some of those.Sendy wrote: I like the modified gear logos on the pictures. "Asia" instead of Casio, lol
Well noted, this has been the top request.Sendy wrote: I second the request for a wet/dry mix setting. It would make it easier to use the plugin for subtle colouring, which IMO is a *really* strong point.

I have had a prototype of the DAC Encoding part since I got the first RE SDK.fceramic wrote:This is like my dream effect, though I'm currently using Reason for most things. I seem to remember Plogue mentioning a possible RE version of this. Any news on that?
The other modules couldn't go in because of the RE SDK limitations.
If you and others feel the DAC Encondig section would make for a nice little RE at a fair price, then I will of course consider it!

Impressive sounding plugin and the price is very reasonable too! I think I will have to get this.
I have one question.Do you plan to port this plugin to AAX in the future?

Very good chances of yes. Our engine (ARIA) needs to support AAX for other products. When that is done, surely we could build a chipcrusher for AAX. In a sense we know the current RTAS version wont be used for long and we _nearly_ didn't do it, but i know some of people who still have PT8 in their studios...miskaseppa wrote: I have one question.Do you plan to port this plugin to AAX in the future?

It will be under 60$, and most probably 49$.V0RT3X wrote:what will the normal price for chipcrusher be once your done with the introductory offer?

Nice pugin, David.
I'd be curious to try the Speak & Spell Ir's
I checked today, and the price was 39€, which is roughly 52$
Is there a "secret beta buy link" or something ?

So, isn't the Shareit price accurate ?davidv@plogue wrote:It will be under 60$, and most probably 49$.V0RT3X wrote:what will the normal price for chipcrusher be once your done with the introductory offer?
