Great stuff Marjorie!
I've listened to a few tracks and I really liked what I heard.
You have a very nice voice. The production of the songs is much better than most of the stuff on the internet and I agree that your tracks don't have the "demo" feel.
Félicitations!

Well you know one of my favourite band is Adagio, they are also from France, am pretty sure if you manage to get in contact with ether Stephan Forte or Kevin Codfert they would try and help you or at least direct you to write people for a band, give it a shot.
I know the guys we used to chit chat over facebook all the time, when i used to have my account ahhaahaha.

Definitive and instantaneous Bjork vibe, at least for my ears, sorry for that
, whatever the arrangements behind. Its not only the tessiture, but also the way to phrase words (( Phrasé in the Moliere's charabiavari )), the scansion, uncommon/unpredictable note changes put in evidence by sustained words.
Sure Bjork was not the only one to use such items, but I wonder if in the head of many listeners she has not a kind of trademark for it.
But anyway cool tracks ( though cool is probably not the word you would like), nice progressions and composition. Eventually, more groove and sophisticated rythms would not harm. But you might as well prefer it basic and raw like that. Its also a sound signature.
Chance bonne à toi.

THanks..well my music are just unprofessional "demos" for the moment (as i said above and as it's written in the title of everytrack) so that's why the sound is raw and basic but hopefully it won't stay like this long (the aim is to work with professionals to give it a pro sound)Lotuzia wrote:Definitive and instantaneous Bjork vibe, at least for my ears, sorry for that![]()

I see...the scansion, uncommon/unpredictable note changes put in evidence by sustained words.
I think it is due to the treatment maybe?
Because most voices from pop artists from the radio are heavilly "autotuned" or "melodyned"
Bjork voice is more natural and "raw" because the autotune on it is lighter to keep this "unpredicable note change"
That's also the case for trent reznor, Dolores O riordan, shirley manson and many rock artists
But Bjork is more of a pop artist..that's what make her originality, she sings with a voice not heavilly autotuned like rock artist do but with pop like arrangements

Which is great! I can only encourage every artist to learn how to sing and don't trust in Autotune. Our voice is capable of doing the craziest articulations unlike any other instrument. It's time to kick Autotune in the bin! The new generation of natural-born singers is coming!L-I-A-R wrote:Bjork voice is more natural and "raw" because the autotune on it is lighter to keep this "unpredicable note change"

well she is autotuned, like all professionnals singers are..the difference is that the way the plugin is used on her voice is lighter to give that natural effect..pop artist are heavier autotuned because that's the effect they are looking for on their voice..it has nothing to do with their ability to sing..i'm sure katty perry sings just as well as bjork doTricky-Loops wrote:Which is great! I liked what I heard which is does not happen often. I don't necessarily agree with other posters that you should find a producer, you are doing well by yourself.
What plugin do you use on your own voice?

However, I've listened to so much Autotuned & Melodyned stuff that I cannot stand this effect any more. I'm always dreaming of finding a great (Funk & Soul) singer such as Aretha Franklin or someone who has trained in a gospel choir for years... They didn't have Autotune but they made great songs!L-I-A-R wrote:well she is autotuned, like all professionnals singers are..the difference is that the way the plugin is used on her voice is lighter to give that natural effect..pop artist are heavier autotuned because that's the effect they are looking for on their voice..it has nothing to do with their ability to sing..i'm sure katty perry sings just as well as bjork doTricky-Loops wrote:Which is great! Usually it is used to correct minor retouchs that has to be perfect because on a recorded track and would pass unperceptible while singing live.
But it is a legend to say that autotune can correct your voice if you can't sing.... if you sing bad..even with autotune you could not improve it...simply because it can't stay pretty and natural if you have to retouch entire false notes..it can just correct little "cents" to be perfectly in the middle of the note when it has to be but you can't because you sing with a lot of differents instrumentations that hide your voice behind it and as you are an human and not a digital synth you can make mistakes
But with pop artist they use it more as an " effect" to give that metallic voice than as a simple corrector

Guess i had more respect towards him musically that i adopted respect to his personality, if i had the chance to help for music or musically i wouldn't demand money because of the passion i have towards music, but that just me.L-I-A-R wrote:yes he made a business of it:Agathodaimon wrote:You serious? what about kevin?L-I-A-R wrote:i contacted stephane Forte..well he asks for money...lolAgathodaimon wrote:great stuff!! loved all of it.

well maybe a musician life is not that easy now a days with the internet so it has become difficult to make a living only from records and live performance and we need to find other possibilities...maybe a lot of people were continusly asking him questions so he naturally told himself "and if i ask money for it?"Agathodaimon wrote:Guess i had more respect towards him musically that i adopted respect to his personality, if i had the chance to help for music or musically i wouldn't demand money because of the passion i have towards music, but that just me.L-I-A-R wrote:yes he made a business of it:Agathodaimon wrote:You serious? what about kevin?L-I-A-R wrote:i contacted stephane Forte..well he asks for money...lolAgathodaimon wrote:great stuff!! loved all of it.

There are musicians giving lessons, seminars ect ect well now a days with the world crisis/internet downloading few can afford spending their time for free...and they can't complain to their fans like one can ask to his boss a salary increase
Thank you for your support
