Thanks for the Win7 replies. Very encouraging.
I already have an XP partition on the mac. Must that leave or can I keep it, so that I have 3 OSs on the machine?

I have a couple of issues with bridging Vandal_VST. A couple a answers might help.
1. Whenever I try to bridge the dll ir reauthorizes and fails to create a bridged file. I'm running jBridge in admin mode. Any ideas?
2. Where do I download the latest version from? Do I just download the trial or is there a full version download for product owners. I can't find this info anywhere.

Try contacting support@samplitude.com with this issue. Perhaps they got experience with jBridge, dunno.morelia wrote:I have a couple of issues with bridging Vandal_VST. A couple a answers might help.

[I'm not sure, but the folks in Dresden might currently be affected by the massive flood that happened in east & mid Germany lately, perhaps not everybody's back at his desk yet.]
The regular version is here:morelia wrote: 2. Where do I download the latest version from? Do I just download the trial or is there a full version download for product owners. I can't find this info anywhere.

It's a trial unless you unlock it. There is no seperate demo version.
But: Read the last sentence on that page, if you're an existing user (boxed perhaps?). You might need a new serial for the newer versions, as the unlock process got reworked. All the other Samplitude-related plugins can be unlocked and managed through the account on pro.magix.com, but Vandal was originally handled by the database that holds all other Magix products, so that the one behind pro.magix.com doesn't see the older Vandal users. So just drop them an email and they'll migrate you manually.

If there is a 64 bit version I should have no bridging problems. I didn't know there was a 64 Windows version out. I have the download version since it was released but it seems to have been migrated as I have a Magix account and Vandal is listed in there.
The authorization seems to work but I have to do it a lot. I installed the 32 bit version and unlocked it. Ran Reaper in admin mode and had to unlock it again. If I open Vandal in another daw I have to authorize again. Every time I rescan my plugin folder I have to reauthorize again.
(edit) Just found the new version with the 64 bit installer. The installer is too automated and does not ask for file locations. I can't find the 64 bit file. I can't register it with my old serial (support contacted) but I did get a look at the fx and wondered one thing. There are so many new effects I have never seen. Magix can send me repeated email about software I have no interest in but in all the time I've owned Vandal (since 2010) not one email about an update. I even contacted support about the latest version a few months ago and they sent me to the installer in my support area which is the old version.

I don't think so. AFAIR you have to have to new serial. They have two database systems. All new Vandal versions are in the Samplitude db while the older ones are in the regular Magix customer db.morelia wrote:I have the download version since it was released but it seems to have been migrated as I have a Magix account and Vandal is listed in there.
Try sorting it out with the supporters. Could be a problem with write access. Make sure you got the latest version (v1.108 AFAIR, look it up in the top LCD in the 'about' section).morelia wrote:Every time I rescan my plugin folder I have to reauthorize again.

Thanks Sascha. I've sent a support request. I still can't believe I'm only finding out now about 64bit, new pedals and features. I've been on the same version for about 2 years. Thanks for the advice.

On a side note, I really hope that Sascha will continue his work on bass amplification at u-he.
To my ears, VANDAL is the best bass amp there is in a plugin. Great character, and feels "alive".
But first things first : SATIN, PRESSWERK... And I hope a killer tube mastering EQ

I should finish my above complaints by saying I just had a really good and rapid response from Magix support. Two emails and problems seem to be solved. More than that Vandal has a new lease of life with heaps of stomps I'd never heard and 64 bit support.

I have the Beat Vandal version.
Not bad, I have to say. But still sounds artificial in the end.
Try Kuassa Creme, SO much more realistic.
You can also deactivate the preamp part and put something else before it, the cabinets alone are worth every penny.
