We are working on the CPU improve and other optimizations of the 'Spire', but first of all, we need to finish the Arp and Stepper.
Here are the one of recommendations:
- Process Buffer Range needs to be set to "Small" or "Medium" in Logic Audio Preferences.

You should hire some preset developers (or give them a synth for free if they making a sound bank). IMO the preset list is too small, could be a problem for people judging only because of the presets. You know that synth like Sylenth got so much success not only because of the sound, the presets are a big selling point.
Compared to other synth, the resource usage is not small. If the synth is using some internal oversampling, there should be some quality options (draft, low, high)
The actual price is the introductory offer and it's also because not all features are implemented? How long is this price valid?
Btw. the website says nothing about the company. There are no contact data which is a bit curious. I think the developers are from Russia?

Looks and sounds nice.

I'm working on a soundbank but since I don't do this full-time and because I'm a perfectionist, it won't be out before October I guess.4damind wrote:You should hire some preset developers (or give them a synth for free if they making a sound bank). As far as Reveal Sound's country of origin, a simple whois request on the website's url will give you a lot of info.
I did it but won't reproduce the results here since it's not really public info.
All I will say is that they are indeed based in Russia.

.. which is a HUGE benefit in terms of sound quality. I don't think I've ever really encountered a serious plugin from a Russian developer which is of dubious quality. The DSP from that country is in my opinion of the very highest caliber.. it's almost like a rule. Plugin -> DSP from Russia with love -> AWESOME!

It's true, the Russians are great developers so I don't understand why they are so shy and don't put some company info on the website. No imprint, nothing...IMO this doesn't speak for a serious company and gives always the feeling they trying to sell viruses or a Trojan.
Btw, there was some project started from Russians to build a synth inspired by the Access Virus. Somebody knows if this project is still alive?

I understand the Arp and the Seq are important to some users. But to my eyes they are just icing on the cake, CPU optimization should be your main target in order to broaden your customer base IMHO. If I want an arp, I'll write it by hand in the piano roll, or i'll just drop an arp plug before Spire... Step seq is very nice for modulations, but I can live without it, I can use the synth to produce nice sounds without it. But with high CPU I cannot use the synth at all.
Don't misunderstand me, I like Spire already, good sound, nifty interface, lots of possibilities, this is why I would like to have it. Main thing that prevent me to go is price+cpu hit.
I'm using Windows with already maximum latency because I'm lagging heavily. But I can still run 5 Diva (demo), while I can run only 1 Spire. So yes it sound nice, but what happen inside I'm not sure...
For the Step seq, will it be a Step seq like the one we can find in massive ? with slopes and everything ? that would be nice because I find that few synths have good step seq parts. Usually it is more squarish
So I'm still becoming mad about Spire... Seeing that Arp & Seq are the main updates that will come, I think I will pass this one even if it makes me feel bad. But I would be crazy to invest 80+ € in a product I can't use right ?

Might I remind ppl that Diva's optimisations came after the early purchasing had expired.....I too can't use it for its high cpu usage as well, but they may have their reasons to include the arp and sequencer first.....
Also, I think they should hire and English writer to go over the manual.... There are some parts of it, that are a bit clumsily written.

I also think that the cpu optimization should be the first to do.
For me it is the only reason why I wait with the buy because at the moment the cpu consumption is to high for my computer. The arp/sequencer is good but not so important for me.

I was about to write a long post but I changed my mind.
Is there a way to avoid VAT ? If I can bypass it I'll buy instantly without asking myself too much questions.
Thanks.

Nah, no way to avoid VAT mate... It's one of the 'pros' of being in the EU.

But since it is the internet, I could just say that I'm from USA no ? When I bought to shops like JRR, VAT was bypassed... because it is an american reseller right ? For example the Image-Line products, I'm from Belgium, they are from Belgium, VAT applies, but I bought to JRR and bypass all vat (plus great bargain).

Hmmm... Well, I guess if it's an American site you might be exempt. I'm not 100% sure tbh.
I did bite the bullet tho', as I like the synth and it's a decent introductory price. But your right the VAT is another sting...
I'd own all of the U-he stuff if it wasn't for the VAT.
