But finding the right people understanding my music and not wanting to change everything to make it fit more to their own personal weird taste is hard these days.
That's indeed difficult! I'm currently searching for a nice (female) - preferably German - singer (because I want to make German lyrics, too) for some kind of Electro Punk (similar to a mixture of DAF and Chicks on Speed) but I don't even know where to search...

There are hundreds of boring cover bands around me that play all the same ol' sh...songs of other artists but to find someone special with an extraordinary musical taste is nearly impossible... Especially to find someone who is open for a new musical adventure...
do you have a soundcloud?
i can speak some German (i come from Alsace...)

Yes, simply type in "Tricky Loops", and you'll find it!

But there are mainly strange sounding "fun" songs, not the Electro Punk thing that I intend to do...maybe "WTF is on it" goes in the Electro Punk direction but it sounds a bit raw...

Today I listened to the duo "Grossstadtgeflüster", that's a similar style as the one I want to do...

I really enjoyed these demos. The music and vocals are both very inventive. I do think you would benefit from a collaborator to serve as engineer, producer, and just someone to bounce ideas off of. If you could find someone compatible on KVR to collaborate with, as opposed to hiring someone to do your bidding, I suspect you would be happier with the results. But as others have said, your demos are already excellent.

I believe it was a comment from Catherine AD I once read that said something along the lines of "Any alternative female singer will be described as some combination of Kate Bush, Tori Amos, and Bjork.". Personally, you remind me a little of Polly Scattergood, whose work I'm a big fan of.

Dunbar wrote:Great music, I think these demos are 90% there, already. They need very little work. Do not let a "producer" anywhere near your songs, as Tricky-Loops said: all you need is a sound engineer.

My only suggestion is to try recording some songs in French and maybe try a cover version of some '60s classics; like Serge Gainsbourg's "Requiem Pour un Con", or something less well know, like this:

nice song! i love it! i didn't know it thanks :-)

Maybe post a song to remix and see who's willing to part and if your taste is compatible.
good idea!

Hi L-I-A-R

Look at this. I made a Soundcloud group not much ago when i was looking for female singers for my tracks.
The group is a place for female vocalists to find music producers and for producers to find female vocalists.

In case you are interested.
http://soundcloud.com/groups/female-vocals-only-fvo

The "rules" are basic, you make a vocal sound (or a few if you want) with your voice (if dry and without musical instruments the better) and share it for free and downloadable in good quality Wave, Aiff or Mp3.
I'm only accepting good quality, configured as downloadable and some information such BPM and key. If you want to put lyrics, even better.
The language can be any, french, english, etc...

I'm not accepting vocals recorded in the bathroom with a crappy cellphone mic, believe me, i got a few of those.
As you can check in the group there are nice quality ones.

So, if there would be producers who like your voice, they could put in contact with you and make custom tracks, for free or commercial.
Everything is to reach an agreement with the other part (the producer).
You are not going to lose anything just trying :)

If you want to share some of your vocal works, remember to set it as downloadable at least.

I will take a look at your voice tomorrow, as it is very late here in Spain and need to rest.
Maybe i could make a couple of tracks with you in the future, who knows.

Have a nice day and good luck. Bisous. :)

If you ask me, she's doing just fine on her own! I think it wouldn't hurt to collaborate with someone to add a bit of polish and a different point of view, but she seems perfectly capable of making "custom tracks" all on her own.

Sure, no problem. :)

I'm not saying that she can't do by her own. As i didn't listen to the tracks yet. I will in a few minutes.
I'm only having the time to read the first two or three posts in a thread and i thought she needed help looking for a producer.
Just pointing out another possible idea in case she could be interested someday.

And in the process, in case some of you are interested to visit the group too.

Have a nice day, buddies :)

The amount of singing girls to choose from is rather limited...

The amount of singing girls in the next village is higher...

Anyway, good luck with your idea!
