How much do you use presets?

Always. I never touched those strange looking knobs.

Mostly. I sometimes change the preset to make it sound nicer.

Commonly. However, I also create my own sounds with the synth from scratch and modify defaults.

Your quest is an illusion.
What is an illusion? The whole life is an illusion!! :x
You have to realize the truth is all - there is no spoon...er, synth I mean.

:hihi:
Everything is an illusion. But as long as I'm living on this earth, I have to play in this theater. Making music is theater. Watching TV is theater. Photography is theater. Having a family is theater.

Whatever you make, it's an illusion, nothing ever lasts forever. But that's not why I've subscribed to KVR. If I want to get awaken, I take the next meditation session. Here I want to talk about audio subjects.

So THAT is what that odor is! :x

this was, and will always be, the popcorn consumption-encouraging aspect of this movie.

of course I haven't read every post... I have missed the bit where someone haughtily proclaimed presets users as inferior, or particularly patted themselves on the back. I offered my little anecdotes to show I was 'in the middle of this continuum'.

Oh I see now. Cool.

I wish I had some cool ranch doritos right now, but I'm fasting for bloodwork tomorrow.

Why not follow your own example and write in one of those threads instead?

It's certainly a recurring argument...although entertaining to watch it always goes down the same way: Pregans vs the Presetvores (& Omnivores).

Moral #1: Whenever a person's ideals impose restrictions on their behavior it's hard not to become a self righteous prick and preach to, or become judgey of, those more free of self imposed restrictions.

Moral #2: Men Argue, Nature Acts

Moral #3: Live & Let Live

BTW - The polling questions are weak and illogical, giving meaningless results.

It's ok, realising it is your first step.

That was taken way out of context

Today I've used some pre-made samples for orchestral stuff.. was too lazy to buy a violin, learn to play it and record it myself

And I didn't even tweak them :-o
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Well of course! It was answering to a direct attack, with insult, and the whole discution was totaly insult-less before that. My response was stupid and childlike, as intended, just because that's the level of the attack it was refering to.

I don't know this person, so obviously I don't feel anything neither positive or negative toward him, but his post was out of the line, period.

I exposed my ideas as being mine and only, not tryed to impose them on anyone, to find out that it is regarded as such by someone that even take to oportunity to be insulting? Come on! Is it just because I am the "person being wrong on the internet" to him?

Anyway, thanks for the discussion, let the funny people close it with farts.
