Sorry but I don't fully understand all the CD and Sudo stuff - what exactly do you type there because all I get is "No such file or directory" even when I copy paste the path and drag the file onto the windowV0RT3X wrote:props man! Im gonna try this and let ppl know how it goes.hueynym wrote:Here is the incredibly long and tedious process I tried. I had to do it several times, so I'm not sure it will work for anyone else.
1) In Finder, choose "Show Package Contents" of the Rapture 1.2.1 Installer.app
2) In the Contents/MacOS folder, you should see "Rapture 1.2 Installer
3) Open a terminal window and cd to the directory in which installer.app is located.
4) type 'sudo' and then drag the 'Rapture 1.2 Installer into the terminal to paste it.
5) Press Enter and your password and then wait for the installer to do its thing.
Now comes the 'fun' part...
If all went well, In /Library/Preferences/ there should be two files:
a) com.cakewalk.Rapture.plist
b) com.cakewalk.rp.plist
These need to be edited.
A) com.cakewalk.Rapture.plist needs the following two entries (I'm not sure if the placement matters)
<key>ProductKey</>
<string>ENTER YOUR REG CODE HERE</string>
and
<key>Serial Number</key>
<string>ENTER YOUR SERIAL NUMBER HERE </string>
save the file.
Do the same thing with com.cakewalk.rp.plist
Then do it all over again for the 1.2.2 update.
The good new is that it gets easier the more you do it. It took me 6 hours to deal with Dimension Pro 2 days ago when I bought it for $99 - and today it took less than an hour to install Rapture...
Hope this helps.

OK I worked out an easier method. All you need is a working (legit) copy of the two plist files that go in preferences, edit them with your own serial and put them in preferences. This tricks the installer into thinking it is just updating an existing installation so it bypasses the serial entry problem (that was the bit not working as the regserver routine was not Intel based). I have tried this with Rapture and it is now installed - I just need someone with a legit copy of Dimension Pro on Mac to kindly send me copies of these 2 files for Dimension (I will gladly provide evidence that I am a legit owner if you want). Thanks
Annoying that there is very little Cakewalk need to do to make these run on OS-X Lion - they just need to pull their fingers out and do it

Hi
Is Chad still available?
I just went through the trouble of installing SL on Virtualbox and installed my freshly bought copy of Dimension Pro.
What are the files I need to copy here?
Thanks!

Thanks to Chad and Payatbeats I managed to install this on my OS X ML Macbook Pro.
Managed to make it run under Live 64 bit using jbridgem
I played it for a while, everything works as expected, lovely, I finally have some new quality sounds for cheap.
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/use ... -plug-ins- live-64-bit-jbridge-mac/
I will have to buy that as well, but for $10, well worth it.
So now I have Dimension Pro running on live 9.0.4 64 bit install, on Mountain Lion.
I think Im gonna buy Rapture and install it as well, seems I cant go wrong, now that I managed to get DPro to work.

Its worth mentioning that the method i gave was given to me by Chad as i to fell victim to the lure of a cheap plug-in.
I cannot take any credit for the procedure and i hope Chad doesnt mind i helped another member out using his menthod.?

The only method that seems to work is to copy an installation from OS X 10.6 to 10.7 or above.almazmusic wrote:How can I install Rapture in OS X 10.8.5? It not accept my serial number. Already tried any methods but unfortunate.
