How much do you use presets?

Always. I never touched those strange looking knobs.

Mostly. I sometimes change the preset to make it sound nicer.

Commonly. However, I also create my own sounds with the synth from scratch and modify defaults.

I have Tassman, the big modular synth. It has presets (thank god!), a lot actually. But there is a problem. Almost every "preset" is a new small synth by itself, with obviously one preset.

So if I tweak one of those, am I building my own in these "mini synths" and am I with the cool guys, or am I just a preset user anyway? :help:
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

I am currently participating in another Beta test for a new synth. I am also doing presets for it so i am one of the "bad guys" :D

AFAIK someone compared this to dealers that provide drugs to junkies...

With all that experience you should write a book now to compensate for:

The seventh seal just releases a coupon for Producerloops to get some custom presets for Sylenth and Massive...

I like making presets with TAL Noizmaker, (which I can figure out) but the other stuff, eh... I am generally in awe of Bigtone and a number of other designers and I figure why bother. When I need a professional, I hire one. Which is what you're doing when you buy presets. My .02 :)
