Hey Tim,
Excuse what may be a dumb question that I could answer for myself if I were in a position to run MixBus, but looking at the export video it appeared that the export was realtime. Is that the case, are stems and mix exports always realtime or does MixBus also allow offline rendering?
Thanks.

Exports are faster than realtime. The playhead moves across the timeline while it is exporting.
You can also "bounce" to a new stereo track in realtime, if (for example) you have external gear connected to Inserts.

Ah, I see. I hadn't ever seen an offline mix where the playhead moved across the timeline like that which caused the confusion. Most show a progress bar in a dialog but I suppose that too is a "progress bar" actually.
Thanks Ben.
P.S. That swhooshing sound you hear are prospective MixBus buyers collectively exhaling.

Impressive DSP from what I can hear in those videos.
When Mixbus v2 came out, I asked whether you folks would be looking at bringing in some practical features for the automation part of Mixbus, as that is also what Harrison consoles are renowned for.
I'm hoping that kind of feature set is still in the pipe, though I'd understand if this requires more time since it probably needs to be done at an Ardour level first.
In this case I'm talking about things like write-back-to-punch-in, latch prime-like behaviour, quick-linking and unlinking controls, selective snapshot capture and selective writing, group faders(similar to VCAs) and so on.
As lovely as the DSP is, recording automation efficiently plays a big part in cutting down dumb mixing time and leaving more for creative work. Just ask Kevin O'Connell.

These videos are really excellent, straightforward and relevant.
Mixbus has given me reason to completely re-evaluate my ITB mixing and mastering procedures and improve them for the better.
Kudos to the Harrison team for the product and the videos.

A lot of users have asked us about the editing features of Mixbus. They're similar to those of other DAWs, but you can arrange regions of audio in layers (much like a graphic editing program). Episode 5 of Pro Tips shows off some of the cool stuff you can do with our layered editing mode, as well as how using layers affects region editing and crossfades:

I've had my eye on this plugin for months and decided to buy it while it was only $39 though I probably won't get much use out of it until ver 3 when they implement the ability to load vst instruments. That's what kept me from purchasing it all along but I can start to become familiar with it at least. It's just the price was screaming at me. You can't go to McDonalds four times for $39 anymore and I can't use the food once I ate it.
I'm impressed with the videos and I just have a strong feeling this thing could really catch on if they keep on improving it. At any rate, the price made it a no brainer from what I've seen about the product and the way the company presents itself. Just something about these guys where I think I'd kick myself later if I didn't jump on this deal.

Hey guys
I bought MixBus in that current special, as well. From what I can tell in the limited testing I was able to do, I really like the concept. The Eq seems very practical and the compressor per channel is incredibly transparent. I can definitely see myself mixing with this application and it does something very nice to each track, as well as the summing.
I'm having crashes and malfunctions all over the place related to 3rd party plug-ins, though, which makes MixBus really hard to use at this point. Just as a disclaimer: none of these issues show up in Cubase and Logic on the same system.
Don't worry, I sent in a bunch of detailed reports, not complaining, only reporting. I hope these can be fixed with a free update.
In the meantime, I'll try to export stems including FX from my projects and mix with just MixBus' internal effects.

Contacting the plug-in developer will also help as we can work with them to resolve these issues.

Hello everybody,
The Mixbus promo has been a huge success, over a 1000 people have taken advantage of the knockdown price, thank you all.
This morning we have already quite a few mails from people who just found out about it and are a bit too late to benefit of the Mixbus promo at only $32.
So we have taken the decision with our friends at Harrison to extend it until midnight on Sunday the 16th to give a chance to those of you who want to climb on board at almost the last second.
Here is the link to get the Mixbus for $39:
Harrison Consoles Store
So you haven't missed out ......yet.
Best Regards,
Nick
