i have an iPad 4 32GB, and im controlling a cello in thumbjam via the keyboards in beatmaker 2 just fine. i open up audiobus and run garageband in the output and beatmaker 2 in the input. i hit record in garageband, and play the cello via beatmaker 2. i stop recording and switch over to garageband to hear what ive got... and nothing. i see the beatmaker 2 audio sequence, but cant get the thumbjam sound to work. i can record thumbjam on its own and it works, but thats not the point. im setting the midi settings in thumbjam and beatmaker 2 correctly, otherwise i wouldnt be able to hear thumbjam in bm2. im setting the correct channels, the correct midi out/ midi in, midi out, midi thru, clock send...
any ideas what i could be missing?
i get a similar situation running magellan into sound prism pro. i hear magellan in sound prism, but when i record... nothing.

This should actually be posted in the Mobile Apps section of the forums. This area is meant for Camel Audio products.

Even though you are using BM2 to play ThumbJam, it is still ThumbJam producing the sound. It is ThumbJam you want going through AudioBus into GarageBand. Likewise, when using SoundPrism to play Magellan, you want Magellan recorded into GarageBand. Don't think of it as which app is controlling things, but rather which app is producing the sound.

this is my first post ever on a forum of any kind. i'll make sure to direct my questions to the appropriate location next time. aside from that, i took your advice and it worked! what i did was open magellan and sound prism in the inputs, together, and garageband in the outputs. i played magellan on sound prism and the outcome was successful. thanks for the tip!
