Reaper added "Elastic Audio" (Stretch Markers), a feature that many users had been asking for for about 6 years, and after about 4-5 days noticing that nobody mentioned it here I made this joke thread asking why nobody had mentioned it. It used to be that a Reaper release would have a post here that listed the entire new feature list, this time not a peep about a feature that many people had literally begged for. It seemed a little odd to me.

So I asked... rather jokingly btw... (paraphrasing)...

"What Happened? Why hasn't anyone mentioned Reaper's Stretch Markers? Did Reaper users kinda get scared away from KVR for some reason?"

...and got called a basher for it. And here we are 17 pages later with people still defending something that never got attacked in the first place.

End of summary.

I should have just said "Reaper Adds Stretch Markers", and left it at that and avoided the high sensitivity and unnecessary drama. We live and we learn.

well LawrenceF, I hope KvR takes one thing from this...you're not a judgmental person at all but no one is above reaching the wrong conclusions of people on the internet based on a slice of "them" through some posts on one subject. There was a time myself where I was called a hater over and over of IK Amplitube, but also came with it were the insults (also came with the support of many friends here right away).

I'm known for writing long posts...what happens? It's 2013, the age of "I want it and I want it now" so people scan the post but do not read all of it and soon the thread changes pages and things get blurred because the first person to respond may have responded on the wrong info that error on multipiles (not a typo) until my original point is beneath a pile of "selective quoting" and tangents you could never dream up.

I would say welcome to KvR but the bottom line is this happens all over the internet. This thread is 17 pages, few people will read the whole thing...some might actually might read the first post but it's more likely they start at the end and might work their way back a page or two to explain some quotes but even then they are not reading all the posts, just looking for one or two posters. So every time it turns back to people taking it too serious you're going to be more and more the target.

I know this because I have done it myself and I'm sure I will do it again, I'm sure you've done it, our mods have done it, trolls have done it (though it's funny when a troll doesn't realize they are backing the wrong horse based on their not reading the thread)...everybody does it from time to time imho.

Here's what I would do, instead of putting out fires every few pages add *sarcasm* to the title of the thread and let the others fight it out one way or tother. We should all take a little from every time this happens and be more tolerant of posters in other similar threads

it's not always about focus, people come in in the middle and they are not looking to read a novel and things get out of whack as a result. It's human nature like the "secret" game where you tell someone a secret and they tell it to someone else and so on until it comes back to you and it's never even close to the same story. Eventually these threads fade away only to be dragged back up from time to time...I think it's Orville Redenbacher who's behind it all

Not everyone digs it. It was a fun, stable and reliable host for me for quite some time. I may or may not dig on it in the future, I have until 4.99 to make those decisions

I think I just need someone next to me who was a former Cubase user to go through some things with me. I think I could get into Reaper, but as it is now, just switching off autoscroll in the MIDI editor is hard enough to figure out. We'll see, I'd prefer to be supporting a dev like this, than Shteeemberg.

yeah sorry for that

anyway, Reaper. i used to work exclusively in Live but disliked mixing in it so i tried a few other programs and Reaper just clicked with me. I do just about everything in Reaper now and use Live more as a sound design tool.
