Yeah i was curious if the sound would reflect the UIs and it does, Atmos stood out, that's got some analog bite to it, not what i expected.Numanoid wrote:+1 very nice stuffmusikmachine wrote:Some more nice free ensembles here: http://www.radiansoundlab.com/ You have pay with a tweet or facebook like, seems fair! Decent sounding bass synths from brief play though a lot of wobble bass presets.
All the snapshots are geared towards the WobbleBoss crowd, but it's quite simple to dial up your own sounds too.
Nice looking also they are

The Eminent-V is also an awesome ensemble-emu, really nails that JMJ Oxygene/Equinoxe sound

Anyone knows if NI-Komplete normally comes with a good promotional price (and what to expect: normally €500)? I might then let this one go by, learn a bit more on my DAW and other (free) plugins and pick up Komplete later at a better price.

If you purchase Reaktor now for $99, you can get Komplete cheaper at a crossgrade price later.

That's the smart upgrade path to K Standard which gives you Monark and Kontakt 5. Otherwise look for someone selling K7.EvilDragon wrote:If you purchase Reaktor now for $99, you can get Komplete cheaper at a crossgrade price later.

Can you explain a bit further? Crossgrade Price is still €400. Which still makes it €500 in THE long run...electro wrote:That's the smart upgrade path to K Standard which gives you Monark and Kontakt 5. I'm sure they had a similar price path to K7 at one point

But it means you wont loose anything if you buy Reaktor now, then you can think a little bit more about buying KompleteDivian wrote:Can you explain a bit further? Crossgrade Price is still €400. Which still makes it €500 in THE long run...
Crossgrading with Reaktor 5 to Komplete Ultimate 9 is €749, full price of KU9 is €999, so buying Reaktor and then crossgrading will save €51

excellent, that's gonna save us some time.BBFG# wrote:I understand that it will vary according to patch and synth structure
yep, it would be nice wouldn't it! But luckily you understand that it will vary according to patch and synth structure and I don't have to make a really patronising post, essentially saying "How long is a piece of string?"BBFG# wrote:but it would be nice to have a range and/or average to consider.

I don't have actual numbers, but I've run ensembles with next to no CPU, and I've tried ensembles that crashed my system.

Running Razor in Reaktor and also using Reaktor ensembles in the FX chain, gives me no problem at all.BBFG# wrote:Essentially, I'm just asking what kind of 'mileage' different users are getting.
But now I'm wondering if Reaktor is the name of the synth or a description of what happens to the people that buy it.

AFAIK Dark Zebra contains modules of Diva and when using those this could explain the difference in CPU use. Without the Diva modules CPU use should be much less.BBFG# wrote:BTW, Zebra gives a description of being 'CPU' friendly until you load 'Dark Zebra' which it describes as 'CPU Expensive'.
