Secret voting was mostly done to eliminate the bandwagon effect, but had the downside that votes were not put under as much scrutiny as before opening the door for iffy voting, but publishing the results will counter that. Also, we might have an optional comment field next to the voting in the form which will make publishing even more relevant.Mushy Mushy wrote:Not exactly secret voting though is it?
Thanks again for this. It's very clear it took a considerable amount of your time to organise

Congratulations to all of the prize winners, and another big round of congratulations to all of the participants -- this challenge was a lot of fun, and it seems to me that a good time was had by all. My MP3 player thanks you as well for all of the fresh new material to play.
Thank you to all of the sponsors, moderators, contest officials, and generous prize donors for making these OSC events a success.
A big thank you to everyone who shared their custom Podolski presets with the rest of the KVR community -- hopefully, this will become a recurring trend with future OSCs.
Hope to see you all around for more OSCs in the future.
Cheers.
Tony DeFusco
P.S. A personal thank you goes out to Dzah and tomtoo for each dialing up a point for my modest entry. With a total of sixty-five entries and just five placements, I honestly didn't expect my first-ever OSC submission to garner even a single point. To walk away with two points, I'm ecstatic -- thanks again you two for making my day!

Congrats to everyone, and especially Photonic
(You deserved it man, good music!)
Although this was my first, I can still say it was a good competition, and I'm looking ahead to the future ones, hopefully as great as this one (I for one don't mind the voluminous amount of good music, even if voting gets tough this way - the better, the better! <- if that makes any sense whatsoever).
Also many thanks to Doc Jon for my point
Anyway, we cloud post comments and reviews about our choices and runner ups now, right?

WOW, I am speechless!
First let me say thank you all for all the point I got from you.
Due to the secret voting I had no feeling what my ranking is. I only could count the comments on SC, which were higher than usual. But on the other side, we had more participants than ever, so the number of comments is naturaly higher than in the past.
A funny fact: the last time I won was with Tripplecheese (U-he) and it was also the highest number of participants back then. It seems that U-he brings me luck!
So I also want to speak aout a big THANKY YOU to Urs, who gives us so great tools and so much fun with them!
Thanx again and see (hear) you in the next OSC!

I just noticed that the track time being displayed in the Archive.Com player for my track "The Night Is Dark..." is a whopping 33 minutes and 29 seconds.
Even the twelve-inch extended dance version, "The Night Is Young And Full Of Teenyboppers", is not quite that long!!!
Seriously, I'm not sure why the track time is so exaggerated (it should be five minutes and 2 seconds) -- I wouldn't want anyone to have to suffer through one of my compositions for quite that long.
IMHO, tracks lengths of that nature are best reserved for epic opuses like "Tubular Bells".
