Hi folks

I am doing a remix of a song . I need the vocals alone from that song . I want to remove all the background music in that song and keep the vocals alone . Is there any possible way to do this ?

Please help me out on this

I will have to finish doing the remix and send out the song by tonight

I would also need some suggestions on some good sample libraries for doing the remix . I am planning to do a trance/electronic/dance/dubstep style

HELP ME PPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance :)

Weather it can or cannot be done depends on the source mix and your expectations. Search "vocal isolation" plugins in our database and message board.

There's no way you can get acceptable results in just a day if this is your first attempt. Also in 99% of the civilised world it is illegal to publish a work containing samples from another work which are not cleared.

To all intents and purposes, it cannot be done.

Satisfactorily.

Actually the song was written and arranged by me but unfortunately I have only the mp3 file now

It would be great if someone can help me out with it

Normally this don't work. There is only some good option if using M/S and split side and middle signal (there is a free plug-in from Voxengo).
If the vocals are mostly in the center there is chance to remove them without destroying the rest.

SonicWorx Isolate seems ligid but do they have it for windows... i can see only mac version there

There's also this one, which is free:

Works well if you have an instrumental version of the song, that you can simple "subtract" from the version with vocals.

Then there's also Extraboy from Elevayta:

.. which is very cheap = USD 29.95.

Hi Roman Empire ,

I tried the audacity thing . It wasn't working out
And for the Extraboy - Does it work with 64 bit OS ? I tried but it wasn't working properly . I mean the application wasn't opening in cubase .Can anyone check that out for me too ?

Thanks once again
