Otherwise, buying it separately and the invidual modules to make it complete still is not that great of a deal. True, it's better than what they usually offer for their invidual prices, but when you get down to it, they're just causing a rash of impulse buys and making a better profit by doing it. All with the hopes that we will eventually buy more or all of their products. Kind of like they used to tell us how drug dealers will get a person hooked. Now rub your ears desparately and repeat, "But I need it, I need them, I need more sounds...
"
:nutter: What a one sided logic. It's not just about getting more sounds, what if you are an engineer or plan to be operating a studio, you need to know your way around most software the artists you are gonna record might be using. You can only really learn by using it yourself.

Also a lot of third party vendors make reaktor ensembles, I just bought one cool granular synth ensemble for just £12.

I'd love to pick this up, but I'm currently unable to login to my account on the NI website, although the account works via the Service Center. I have opened a couple of support tickets for various issues over the last 5 days, but have had no response. I don't remember them being this slow back in 2011 :(

Can you try login via different browser, perhaps?

I've no problem logging in, myself.

I just authorized something at NI on Monday - no problems.

By jove, I think he's got it.

That did the trick. I had to resort to IE for the first time in 25 months. I never had a problem with Chrome on other sites. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I use FF, myself. Never an issue.

Carry on with your purchase, mister! :) (Shit, I should be on NI's payroll. :D)

So I know this has already been discussed, but can anybody help me understand Reaktor CPU usage? I'm playing around with Reaktor player right now and I'm really liking the sounds I'm getting out of it, but it has a big CPU hit even when no sound is being generated. For example, the patches of the Carbon 2 instrument seem to vary between 5% and 30% (total, since Reaktor only seems to run on one core), depending on the number of oscillators active and the state of the filter. Playing notes does not significantly increase this value. Also, if I activate a previously inactive oscillator, CPU usage jumps by 5%. Again, this is when Reaktor is not doing anything. Every other synth I've used hardly costs any CPU when not playing, and changing the patch's complexity does not change this. Anybody know what gives? I have an older laptop and don't mind the CPU hit per se, but taking up 30% of my processing power just sitting minimized in my DAW seems a tad excessive.

That's just how Reaktor works - it reserves CPU usage for all voices, so that you always know how many voices you can run. Instead of going into nasty dropouts and clipping when your CPU gets overruled. It's called predictable CPU load.

For 100 bucks I bought it. I figure that's a deal since so many synths and effects are included. I demoed it a long time ago but I didn't like the programming, it's not as simple as synthedit.
