What a one sided logic. It's not just about getting more sounds, what if you are an engineer or plan to be operating a studio, you need to know your way around most software the artists you are gonna record might be using. You can only really learn by using it yourself.Also a lot of third party vendors make reaktor ensembles, I just bought one cool granular synth ensemble for just £12.
