Seems there is a time for drum boxes atm :D

Finally here it is: DrumBurst X-824, and the good news is it is free. The bad news, well, not really bad as only temporary this is my last Synthedit based plugin. Thus it marks the end of a 10 years era. Now I'm looking for new tools to create plugins in future, but this may take some time.

DrumBurst is an 8 parts drum machine with 64 waves at each slot making 512 waves in total: not too much for a quick selection but a good variety to work with.
The inbuilt sequencer features 24 Main Pattern each based on the combination of a dedicated wave, Mute status and 1 out of 6 Step Pattern variations per part. This provides a lot of variation and less of programming effort as pattern can be re-used with a different instrument.

Please have a look at the included manual for details as this covers all related topics.

Is it a re-work of Percumat 2? What's different?

no, besides the different sound the differences are well documented in the manual ;-)

I love how there's pattern variations per instrument.

Using Jbridge 1.5 retail with Studio One Pro 2.5.1 retail

loads and for the last 15 mins no problems

few things I noticed
swing value is rough and sporadic ( could be caused by bridge ?)
loading samples is fine, But unless your gonna add a preview the arrows should move to the folder the sample is from for fast changes.

Multi out options are there but changing them to use the mono outs you loose sound.
S1 doesn't recognize multi outs here but again probably caused by JBridge..
All the controllers I connected worked fine..

Sorry I don't have 32bit version installed right now ...

Built for very fast work flow.. It's super slick how fast changing a main pattern changes the sample set loaded which makes it very easy to come up with new ideas without loosing flow :)

As of the Mono (single) outs these are still pending though basically prepared.
Later I'll put up an update where MIDI Out will be connected plus some other minor changes e.g. respond to Transport run.

Sorry to hear about that :(

Have you crosschecked in a smaller host (e.g. VSTHost) whether it does run at all on your system? Could be a broken dll.

Checked ok here in FL 10.

Updated version online -- same link as before see above

MIDI out active, 4 Mono outs active (1 to 4)

fixed: Transport Run now working properly

Works well on energyXT 2.7 Beta.

But it can peak on my very old 3ghz pentium up to 30%.

Even all effekts are on 0.

Very intuitive btw !

Edit says: Uhpps somtimes things happen while you write ! :hihi:

K nice, will ceck the new version.

Just wanted to suggest a name for the plugin: Percupiter.

I know you like cosmos, inspired in Jupiter, the biggest planet in the solar system.
This new version works now in FL Studio 11, i will do some beats.

Have a nice day :)

Hey HG,

I had no access to my computer yesterday when I discovered this thread so I was not sure if I should post something but I withstand. Instead I read your manual and after I finished reading it I was hoping for a specific device I had in mind.

So today I tried this thingy for a quick 15 mins first impression test and you do not disappoint me.

Well I had some problems in opening and working with it in Reaper so I switched to vst host and had no problems. I will investigate those Reaper problems later but I think it's related to my computer so don't worry.

Now to the device I had in mind while reading your manual: my beloved Redrum from Propellerheads Reason. Nothing is faster for beat making than Redrum. I know my samples and I know what I am doing so creating a basic beat with a few pattern variations is only a matter of seconds with it. After that copying it to the sequencer and applying some MPC60 swing settings cost me another minute.

So I hoped for something similar but was not expecting a clone or something that fast.

But you are pretty close. For now I am missing a few basic functions like "connecting" two channels aka sharing the same voice. That's especially useful for hihats. Closed & Open hh patterns sound totally different if enabled or not. If enabled the first sample stops when the second one triggers and vice versa. If disabled, well, I guess you already know it, the release tail of both stays untouched and can overlap.

The second one would be a mono & stereo ping pong delay. With some basic controls. Sometimes a delay sounds better and more tight especially in dance music. And if you could add a HAAS effect you would be the first (afaik) with that kind of fx on such a device. Search the forums. Most people are asking for "wide stereo hi hats & claps like [insert name here]". And the answer is always "Do you know "HAAS"? Not quite sure if it would fit into the concept or destroys your vision of this device. But for beat making it would be damn useful. Feel free and drop me a PM if you interested in it because I am used to this effect, know some of the do's and don'ts and eventually have some ideas in lowering phase problems.

The third one (if possible): for now we have global swing which is pretty cool btw. But swing per voice would be cool too so I could eg. apply only swing to a ride pattern.

I LOVE (!!!) the handling of the sequencer so far. Haven't tried pattern mode. This was exactky what I was looking for (well, pretty near to be honest). I am a velocity nerd sometimes when it comes to creating House & HipHop beats.

On Redrum there were a few more VEL options like pitchbend, samplestart, etc. But not on every channel. Only on two of eight so you had some more options.

Ahh, and a button on each channel would be cool for either gate or decay playmode. Not quite sure if this make sense but sometimes I love to play my drums "gate style", sounds different. :)

But that was after 15 minutes of testing, I have a little bit of spare time this weekend I will test this device further. For sure. Love it so far and pretty quick and self-explanatory. Kudos.

Edit: and is there a Solo button somewhere? I can only spot the mute buttons. I tried to pan a shaker but could not localize it in the stereo-field so I was searching for a Solo function.

Regards,
Sebastian

BUG

Not quite sure if we should post bugs or send a PM but here is one:

- PAN on slot 5 does not work (lotom / perc slot) at least in stereo mode.
