I got this effect while using timeless2. I actually had a preset which did exactly like you wanted that that I created. If i still had it id share, but I don't have it since i sold off my fabfilter stuff.

One eligible bachelor is the old De La Mancha Broxxen, not sure if it's spelled exactly that way. Last I checked it was available from the wayback machine archive.
It's a synthedit plugin, so you'd need to be able to use a 32 bit windows plug.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but did you try setting all fine and coarse controls to zero and going up from there? Or maybe doing parallel processing.ferez21 wrote:"Wow & Flutter" does it, but i find the effect too dominant and i need something subtler.
Thanks,

If all else fails, a pitch shifter and a few LFOs. Maybe even modulating the LFOs themselves too.
br0xx3n and fuxx0rd. Can't find a working link for fuxx0rd tho.RunBeerRun wrote:One eligible bachelor is the old De La Mancha Broxxen, not sure if it's spelled exactly that way. Last I checked it was available from the wayback machine archive.

Yes, iv'e tried all the setting and was able to get a finer tone, but i find it predictable like an LFO, and i want it to be random rather than simple LFO driven.cosmosis wrote:Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but did you try setting all fine and coarse controls to zero and going up from there? for real. excellent synth. excellent effect. as previously mentioned, DLM's Unstable is wonderful for this as well, but it no longer available. Phonec provides even more flexibility toward the effect you are looking to achieve here...

this'un is nice too!

Oh thanks for the recommandations guys but these are too expensive for me. This is not an effect i'm going to use on every project so i'm actually looking for a freeware one.

I finally gave it a try and it's great. It can sound like an old hand-held electronic game from the early 80s with batteries that are running outRunBeerRun wrote:One eligible bachelor is the old De La Mancha Broxxen, not sure if it's spelled exactly that way. If I get what ferez21 is looking for, these effects tend to have traditional waveforms for the LFOs that are all predictable and simple. I'm thinking a more elaborate waveform might be the basis of a believable effect. I propose one like this (not that I analized the rollers in a VCR):

I think you could do it with a sine or triangle modulating pitch and a saw modulating the amplitude of the first one, maybe a third LFO modulating the frequency of the second LFO.
But optimal would be being able to draw your own waveform for a sigle LFO modulating the pitch. I don't know which programs to use for this. You can draw an envelope in Audition (probably with other editors as well), but AFAIK you'd have to keep drawing the cycles accross the whole audio. I don't know if you can copy/paste the envelope, or somehow make it repeat itself like an LFO.
After getting the desired pitch modulations, it'd be a matter of adding a bandpass filter, EQ, distortion/saturation or whatever to finalize the effect.
All in my non-sound engineer opinion.
