Poking around in the Reaktor library...Ampere Modular v12.0, a Reaktor Nord Modular G2:"a collection of 156 types of voltage-controlled synthesizer modules, intended for patching together into instruments"

http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... tchid=9310

Been around since 2009, but I hadn't noticed. Very nice!
Everything that guy did is pure gold.

His semi-modular is awesome:

Really, even if you never build a thing, Reaktor is worth it.

Chet is particularly interested in physical modelling - some of his physical models are outstanding

Indeed, it's a nice collection of modules in macro format. For those of you new to Reaktor the impact of this might not have clicked yet. Because these are well designed "macros", you can very quickly wire up a custom synth using them. The macro combines the user interface elements as well as the "code" for the model. So, for example, when you use one of the filters in this library, it has all the familiar features all ready to use. You just drag it out, wire it to a mixer, wire that to your oscillators, rearrange the "modules" in the user interface to your liking and you're done.

It's a very short learning curve to building synths using pre-existing macros. Reaktor comes with two sets of modules that work similarly, but, the Ampere modules are a bit more consistent and complete and, if you're used to how the nord modular (g1 or g2), then these are dead easy to use.

EverythingTurns has now made available a free player version of their Arcwave ensemble for Reaktor.

To get it you need to get sign up for their members area, but that is free:

LOL, yes definitely! I still have some of those flyers somewhere in storage.

I've got so many toys elsewhere that it's easy to forget how deep Reaktor goes.

For giggles last night I opened a couple of instances of Reaktor and started auditioning a bunch of the included beat and rhythm machines. Get two or three of those going in sync, and then throw some FX on top (I like the all in one Camel Space/Phat plugs), and off you go.

There are so many different beatboxes included that it's really hard to settle on just a couple of sounds. Fun though.

In reference to the bold/blue in the quote.

I was doing something similar (fishing around in my folder of Reaktor ensembles from the user library) and rediscovered Lenin from the user library. I was quite surprised by it. It gave me some new inspiration. This was a nice surprise.

Can someone explain how I use these ensembles? I just loaded Reaktor in FL and loaded the Ringer ens, and it looks like there is no MIDI activity from the piano roll. The factory ensembles are working.

Post

Okay, so it is crashing a lot in FL. Not that useful at this time.

Reaper is working great, MIDI notes actually work!
