I received a reply from Waldorf and there is currently no way to do a program change within the current bank. A solution will be added in a later update. For now, manually select the sound.

I'm creating a new preset bank for Nave that's completely free and no license mumbo jumbo, thought I might as well share it on here too for anyone looking for more presets! It's a work in progress and the bank will grow with time I guess. Here's a handful of audio demos and link to the preset bank is in the info: https://soundcloud.com/chris1a-1/nave-s ... reset-bank

sold it to me, anyway. After Thor this week, I thought I was done. Still, I'm a sucker for £10 synths, especially when they play nice with my IO dock and digital piano. 88-note Waldorf to join my 88-note Moog and 88-note MS-20... run through LiveFX... times are good for iOS users right now.
OK, though, stop releasing decent synths for this month, please.

Cool thanks, glad you likey! As I mentioned, the bank will get more presets over time. For now tho I think I'll hold of a bit since it is a crash fest on iPad 2 when you are browsing through the wavetables (and no background saving/backup system, so losing unsaved presets after lots of "work" is not uncommon, and is a bit nervwrecking lol), so I hope Waldorf comes up with a solution for that. Better memory management or a redundancy backup system that is constantly saving the changes on a preset to a temp file in the background that Nave can call upon when it's restarted again after a crash..

iPad 2 here, and I didn't have a single crash yet. Even when browsing through the wavetables...

Just to make sure, are you on the latest iOS?T-CM11 wrote:iPad 2 here, and I didn't have a single crash yet. Even when browsing through the wavetables...
Still, other people also mention it crashing while creating presets and losing work in the process, so it is definitely a problem that needs fixing from Waldorf (like a "hidden" backup system, if they can't solve the memory thing).

Ok (6.1.3 here). iOS do have a mind of its own when it comes to handling available RAM. It will kill apps when it feels the RAM is getting low, but it doesn't seem to prioritize that process (like kill all background stuff before the app currently opened). It'll just close things down at random making it look like apps are crashing. I hope iOS 7 will bring some better things when it comes to handling system resources and killing apps etc..T-CM11 wrote:I'm on 6.1.chris1a wrote:Just to make sure, are you on the latest iOS?

Do you have other apps running in the background when Nave crashes? I don't...

Nope. I really have OCD when it comes to removing apps from the taskbar, and keeping the memory clean/free.T-CM11 wrote:Do you have other apps running in the background when Nave crashes? I don't...
I do import a bunch of my own wavetables, but they're just tiny little snippets of audio, like a fraction of a second. But, could still maybe be something related to that. Anyway, I'm sure it will get solved with time either via "bug fixes", new iOS version or a newer iPad.

-Thanks for making this bank available to us, your programming chops are awesome and I'm jealous! Love the sounds and hopefully this fall when I get some time I will try my hand at programming some sounds for us old proggers.

Thanks! Glad you like'em. Actually Nave is the first synth I'm really creating sounds from scratch with tho (except maybe the first or second preset in the bank). I've always just kinda stuck to doodling around with factory presets and preset packs. So got mucho to learn about sound design. But I guess that only goes to show how much fun and intuitive it is to use Nave and its polished thought out interface.

Wow! Thanks Chris1a. The example sounds great. Can't wait to try these out. Really appreciate it.
I have an iPad 4 and have run into crashes. Yes, sometimes editing sounds and walking through the wavetables and spinning the "Wave" dial.
I did also crash live this weekend.
I had BOTH iGrand and Nave in Background Audio and I do think iGrand may have issues with background audio as I've had issues with other apps while iGrand is open. Before going on stage, I cleared everything out and started with iGrand and Nave (wi-fi is off). Played the first set, came back 40 minutes later and during the first song, some crackling and then nothing. I had lost Nave. Nave was still listed in the taskbar so I tapped on it and it went through the whole load cycle again. I practiced tons at home without any issues, though I had mostly practiced with just Nave. Then decided to try layering iGrand and Nave towards the end of my practicing.
