Hello

What do you think about the SoniVox Vocalizer Synth?

JRR offers it actually for 41,65 dollar with the GROUP Coupon

Can I upgrade for free to the new version or how is this new Vocalizer Synth from Sonivox another effect plugin?

;)

Well, you can check out the vids on youtube... and decide for yourself. It took me about 5 seconds to decide, see how long it takes you. ;)

Gotta love that enthusiasm. 1:04 onwards.

Actually not bad, at least one of the better products from SoniVox. It's handled like a vocoder (but it isn't one), so you have to put it on an audio track and feed the plugin with a MIDI track, otherwise you won't hear anything...

Keep in mind that they didn't have a manual (only some tutorial videos), so you have to experiment...unless they deliver a manual now...

The video couldn't convince me to buy it, for this kind of effects there are better plugins...but I love the enthusiasm, too... :P

But for $49 it's something that you probably can buy without landing in the thread "What recent purchase do you feel your money was wasted?"

Is it 64-bit?

There is new version of Vocalizer called Vocalizer Pro. Vocalizer is 32-bit, Vocalizer Pro 64-bit. I just upgraded from Vocalizer to Vocalizer Pro for $99.00 on Sonivox website.

So you have to pay the $41.65 for the old Vocalizer, and then $99 for the upgrade to Vocalizer Pro.

I've just seen the new video. While the sounds obviously contain some nice harmonies, everything sounds also a bit harsh and over-distorted. Cannot convince me to buy it for $140.65... If it were Vocalizer PRO for $41.65, I could recommend it...

For much cheaper you can get similar effects with Meldaproduction plugins, for example their MMultiBandHarmonizer (which has MANY modulation possibilities).

This is the video for the Vocalizer Pro:

I believe you can get the pro for $99 using a code from rekkard

I think it suxx
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Kinda reminds me of an old Black Adder joke...

"what's NOT a vocoder, but SOUNDS like a vocoder?"

haha.. and keep in mind Sonivox is NFR!
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

It's a stereo HARMONIZER with formant processing, LFO-, pitch- and amp-envelope and some other filters as well as the usual effects...
I got a similar - much better! - effect with some other (cheaper) plugins, with a harmonizer on the top of the plugin chain!

Absolutely, I much prefer Melda Production. To me, Sonivox just gives another flavor, which to most people probably makes it a totally unnecessary buy. And I guess they're right. On the other hand, I've bought several distortion plugins, so why not?

And they don't offer DEMOS? :-o

If I'd want to buy a plugin in this price class, I always want to test the demo. If there are some really cheap plugins like the ones from SKNote, then I *could* live without, but for a plugin that costs $99 or $149, I expect to get a demo.
