well I can see why the sh-101 was such a popular synth .
the features are minimal but really well thought out by roland and combining them allows you to make even sounds u'd usually associate to a 3 oscilattor synth.
for example here is a patch i made with bassline101 doing a typical 3osc moog bass.

not the real thing ofc but somehow does the job (and no phasing issues as it's just 1 osc)

An interesting but mostly pointless thing I found out about the Bassline-101 pulse/square wave. With PW mode set to manual and the PW slider all the way down, you get a slightly "off" square wave, with some quiet but just noticable even harmonics. If you then nudge the slider up a tiny bit, you can get a perfect squarewave with only odd harmonics, and then obviously if you continue going up you get narrower pulses and the typical pulsewave harmonic patterns.

Helps if you have a signal analyzer handy as I doubt I'd have noticed it otherwise :)

Just bought it, didn't even test it properly, but really nice sounds. TAL products are amazingly good, license policy is great, they are easy to use, easy on the CPU, lots of freeware (that I use a lot) and I even used the free 101 synth on my track so I can replace that with this :)

Do Oberheim SEM module next?

I don't know if you mean the same thing, but with many synth plugins, setting the PW slider/knob to min or max produces a strange sound, I guess i remember the same thing from the U-NO-LX as well. The change when leaving those extreme settings just a little bit is very strong and from then on any further change is kind of gradual...

No, this is a lot more subtler than that. I think what you're thinking of is due to the fact that as the pulse wave thins out it approaches silence, and hence it's timbre changes more rapidly near that phenomena.

I spend way too much time looking at this stuff.

Sounds pretty good, I wish there were more sequencer presets, for testing the demo. I like the Abstract Cats presets the best.

You can play your MIDI keyboard directly into the sequencer.

A very good idea! Patrick could do it proper justice!

Is it just me or do Ingo's dropbox files not play? All I get is a page of HTML gibberish :D

It's the first VST emulation which has reduced this perception difference for me on a more consistent (rather than hit-and-miss) basis. It's awesome that NI's coders not only heard it, but they understood enough of what's going on to model things better! Kudos to them..
Yeah that's probably the reason why they've locked envelope macros, not that I care of course, because I wouldn't mess with such components anyways.
That's why I wish that NI would make a prophet 5 emulation, since they had one before, now with all that knowledge, which they've gained while making Monark, they could get it right,

I already noticed it days ago in some other thread, but didn't say anything.

I don't remember which thread it was, not even if it was one of your posts, but I had the same problem...
