I think what's goin on in monark is some VCA compression (imo that's why they locked the vca/envelope). especially in the case of a minimoog where the signal is running hotter than usual there's for sure VCA compression goin on which gives that defined "spit" and tapping"...similar to what u'd hear when applying a dbx160(a popular vca compressor)to a signal.fluxmind wrote:Yeah that's probably the reason why they've locked envelope macrosPAK wrote: I also hear the difference Monark made in this regard. It's the first VST emulation which has reduced this perception difference for me on a more consistent (rather than hit-and-miss) basis. It's awesome that NI's coders not only heard it, but they understood enough of what's going on to model things better! Kudos to them..

there's no need for a separate thread and a specialized preset thread for such a basic synth.
you can post you presets here (once). and anyone else who wants to share their presets can post here too. there's no problem with that.
you may wanna consider maybe opening a preset exchnage thread in the TAL forum if you really want a separate thread.
but 2 separate threads in instruments is stupid just to cater for your deluded ego.
you really believe your presets are really worthy of such attention? you think the music world is full of dumbasses who can't make a synthbrass on a synth?
i think you really do.

here's a few suggestions that would really make the sequencer alot more user friendly, more usable and faster to work with:
- move whole sequence one step right/left
- sequencer 'select all' for adjusting all velocities/lenghts at once
- sequencer copy/paste, any kind, copy page would be ok too
- sequencer reset step & reset page, or if you could select a group of steps and reset them. (right click step reset for example)
- horisontal drawing of velocity/length parameters with mouse, moving 96 velocities one by one is very time consuming, why can't you just swipe the values with the mouse with one move per page.
- midi import (why can't you drag&drop sequences into the 101 if you can export them)
- would also be nice seeing both velocities and note length at the same time, clicking the switch button is quite annoying in the long run.
these additions would be very handy tools that wouldn't make it a worse emulation, just life easier:
- sequencer 'swing' or 'note delay'
- LFO Delay (like in uno-lx)
- highpass filter (the one in uno-lx is very good)
- Chord Hold would be awesome
on a side note, it's a great sounding synth and worth every penny already...

Just trying this now
How do you get the sequencer to record on every consecutive step with midi input?
It seems to record on every 4 steps here.
Weird.

I used to own a 101 for several years. This sounds amazing. I'm gobsmacked. It sounds like hardware.

thanx for the presets ingo! great work! i especially liked the brassy ones.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I don't mind. Because the synth is that simple, I can learn a lot from the patches. Great for rebuilding and trying to understand synthesis.Kriminal wrote:People really want patches for this?
I'm always surpurised to see how people use even a simple synth like this to create something I wouldn't have thought about.
