I couldn't find anything about cc's recognized by alchemy mobile, it seems to respond to cc1 ( modulation) and cc7 ( current part volume). Anything else ?
It wouldn't hurt to be able to send/ receive cc's from all controls (wouldn't be all that much, really).
When moving the xy pad, alchemy should just send those 2 ccs.
Another option that I would like is the possibility to "lock" some controls when moving the pad.

@wasi - that's a possibility, we'll investigate
@mbncp - no other MIDI CC values are mapped in the current version besides mode wheel and volume but we're considering MIDI learn for the future.
I like the idea of locking controls, that would enable lots of new sounds to be found / created, but the UI implementation could be tricky. I'll put this down for discussion in our next design meeting.
Peace,
Andy.

Thanks Andy.
For the lock, you could add a lock mode next to bmp, then moving/touching a control would either enable or disable it's lock state.
Im wondering if it's easy to change the sliders colors, having a different color when it's locked would be nice.
Btw, I just realized that Alchemy (vst) doesn't support poly aftertouch, is this correct or am I doing something wrong ?

Alchemy does support poly aftertouch but it's not set up in each preset. Very few people have poly at capable keyboards, and hence SD's would find it difficult to test in a meaningful way.mbncp wrote:Alchemy (vst) doesn't support poly aftertouch, is this correct or am I doing something wrong ?
So unless there is a bug specific to the VST version, you'll need to assign it in the mod matrix ...

Andy.

Thanks again, got it. Until now whenever I would see poly aftertouch I knew it wasn't for me so my brain was probably hiding it.
And it's really good especially with fx, soundscape patches.

I would love to use my EWI with Alchemy, but need a little more aftertouch/expression cc support.
I'll have to get the desktop version. Sounds like a perfect compliment to the app.

I've noticed they added scenes in MidiBridge, but haven't tried it yet.Scott Murrell wrote:---In a live setting switching from Alchemy to Sampletank to GB etc...is not very efficient. There's just not enough time during or between songs to do this and until Audiobus allows for saving set ups that's not practical, all of these great resources and an inability to access them live...
P.s.- if the news things coming out involve Audiobus then oh well it's good for some people I guess.
Here's a short video demo.

Andy,
It seems that you guys have been thinking about MIDI CC Learn for about a year now - how's about moving on to step 2, please? I use my Minibrute as an iPad controller, and all those knobs keep complaining they have nothing to do every time I call up Alchemy Mobile...

Hey Ned,
MIDI CC is up for discussion in our next design meeting, which happens to be this week, and I've made a special note that this is one of the more popular user requests.
We will be making incremental updates to the app over time, so if it doesn't appear in the next update there is a good chance of it being in included at some point in the next few months.
Peace,
Andy.

Terrific, thanks for the quick reply! Now to wipe the egg off my face, as I hide in shame over even suggesting that the all-analog Minibrute's knobs send MIDI CCs...ZenPunkHippy wrote:Hey Ned,

On the iPad version, would it be possible to make the keys just a bit longer. You got everything covered so well when it comes to utilizing a touchscreen, like scales, resizable/nr of keys and octaves, sliding x/y and all that. But the keys are just sooo short even for me that always goes for the "small" keys settings in all apps, and I think adding just the smallest space would be really helpful. I know there's not much space above it for a redesign, but maybe at least take the black bar with the sticky keys, chord buttons etc and have it slide open on top of the keys just like in Magellan?
And another thing that would improve it even more IMO would be to add a button that lets you scroll the keyboard while playing it (just like the lock button, but instead of zoom/resize just have it allow note input while scrolling).
